what a great video, saw them both run many times in the late 70s and maybe into the 80s. we always went to the springnationals at bristol and commerce, rockingham, and a bunch of small tracks during those years. what great cars.

At that point of Ronnie's career he was driving Bob's other Barracuda. Bob built it just for Ronnie so they could match race. If you could see the writing on the door, it says "Wrench: Bob Reed". About a year after Ronnie passed, Bob could'nt look at it and sold it to someone from Maryland.

My friend from Petersburg VA Fletcher Harrison used to run Bullet Bob Reed. He told me the one reason he ran a stick shift was so that he could beat Ronny Sox at his craft, knowing that an automatic was a hair faster. One night at the strip, Bob brought the car back and was blown away at how great the car was running. He said, "she's pulling a hair to the left." Harrison crawled under the car and tweaked the rear suspension and sent Bob back out. Bullet Bob came back with an ear to ear grin on, "Man, I could've driven the entire run with my hands off the wheel!!!"
