New York passed a bill in 2022, to allow human composting (turning dead humans into compost) which you can use to fertilize your garden. They call it environmentally friendly "green" burials. Fertilizer is used to grow vegetables and grains to feed animals. I'm being serious. It's already law in Washington. These soyboys are getting out of control. Meanwhile euthanasia is being legalized and Biden appointed a Satanist with the symbol of the devil tattooed on his chest to the highest position in the CDC

In the Simpsons when homer and marge are at the golf course and people are feelin' inside the windmill one person says "feels like a hefty bag full of meat" as if you couldn't tell you're feelin a person or you couldn't look. Next they say "It was people" "People soiled our green". "Meat" "People" "Soiled our/Soylent (same syllable count)" "Green"
@NathanW5555

In the same episode chief wiggum is at the golf course yet moe gets the exhaust fumes of his car and starts smokin out the inside of the mindmill. So is that to reinforce that they're talkin about Soylent green with increased fumes or climate change? Seeing as they're in a 'wind' mill to associate it with weather. And the 'mill' part, milling people? They're kinda cramped inside as well, overpopulation? Abraham Lincoln is then beheaded, but was shot, as the girl was shot in the head in Soylent green, she's shot, screams, they're screaming as the windmill approaches, associating shooting and head. Everyone's coughing due to fumes?

For me this was the zenith of western Civilization and maybe even the zenith of humanity in general. However i still believe there is hope. If overpopulation ever becomes a problem you will probably see some form of racism from governments around the world in order to divide people and have them kill each other. It only seems logical to me that the solution to overpopulation is war. When people on earth surpass the max amount the earth can support then survival of the fittest will be the only rule

Happy New Year 2022! I first saw this on TV as a Friday night movie in 1975 and we've caught up to 2022. As an 8-9 year old in Phoenix in 1975, I remember when those same model garbage trucks used to work the alleys picking up trash. As I am a Native American (Navajo/Meskwaki ancestry), I dread to know what Soylent Red is made of.

Don't forget the late, great Edward G. Robinson (1893-1973). In 1973, he was given his Honorary Academy Award at the hospital (on his deathbed) by the President of the Academy (Charlton Heston). The document accompanying the award reads, in part: "Edward G. Robinson, who achieved greatness as a player, a patron of the arts, and a dedicated citizen ... in sum, a Renaissance man. From his friends in the industry he loves." Sadly, he died 2 months before the actual awards ceremony, though the results had already been voted upon long before. It's wild because Soylent Green is people isn't even the twist that sticks with me now. To me, the real twist, is what 'going home' means. I had meant to watch this movie for years and years and finally did so 3 or 4 years back and when you see Heston's friend 'go home' it struck me as incredibly sad and as profoundly 'true.' We will undoubtedly live to see this become the best possible outcome for many people and it's such a sad state of affairs.

Not only was the movie frighteningly dystopian, but a prescient meditation on our already ravaged-and-tonsured planet of profoundly depleting resources that will soon render this movie (of purpoted science fiction of the future), to be reclassified as the most horrifying nonfiction of the present day reality!
