Such a great feature - being able to send only certain samples to it. Could have a vinyl sample or 4 on the floor beat going and it’ll just chop up some percussion. Or flip it the other way around and discover a crazy sample flip. Love it. Can’t wait til mine arrives!

I am a 60 year old man who recently decided I want to learn how to produce and record electronic music late in life. I have been playing guitar since 1977 so already a musician but electronic music is new to me especially anything to do with sampling. I am building a new home studio and in gear buying mode now which is always phone but I am an old dude who doesn't work anymore so need to make smart decisions when buying gear. I feel confident that if I purchase this SP-404 ideo and watch all the videos you put out I will be able to learn how to use this unit. Any other pieces of gear you recommend for setting up a studio.? Synths, drum machines, groove boxes? Open to any advice but do you you think the SP-404 should be a definite part of my home setup? @@Verysickbeats Bro yo don't think that's a LOT of extra work when you could just lay down a nice drum pattern with the pads and your own imagination? You're talking about laying down a basic drum pattern, then using scatter effect, then resampling the pattern with scatter on, then chopping that up. Just lay down a decent boom bap style drum pattern with the pads and be done with it. Anyway to each his own. Like I said, the patterns I heard in this video sound like they would work well in trap music out the gate.

Well you could use 2 separate bus fx and put 1 on the kick, and another on the snare.

I've been making beats for years now, but my biggest problem is finding decent drumkits.. that don't require so much processing and being able to create freely, that has caused me a big problem. I bought a 404 mk2 saving many months and it should arrive on the 22nd of this month. I would like to know if you can make a Christmas offer of one shot drumkits, ready to be mounted on rich samples of soul jazz, I am from Latin America and here everything costs triple...
