Super sick, a lot of people skip the chopping process in their videos but I’m glad you made a point to include it. Also, you can hit “resample” while in chop mode to toggle “Zero cross snap”. I found it helps remove the ending click without adjusting the envelope afterwards.

Thanks for the tip! 🙏 will definitely try that out!

Yes, and sometimes when i record new sample there is also little click in the beginig. I find out that You can solve this by re-moved start point on the real begining of the sample…

That certain point during time stretch, when it slows down is typically at 150% of original bpm
@LiftedNoise Жыл бұрын
I figured out after the vid though I was mistaken about bpm sync. I'd say you're right about that but it's not timestretching in a traditional sense because it is pitching the sample to fit the tempo.

So the time stretching is better on sp 404 than an MPC? I’m not very happy with the MPCs performance in that area but I don’t have experience with others so I wasn’t sure if it was just the nature of manipulating wavs
@LiftedNoise Жыл бұрын
Well the MPC has 2 ways of time-stretching. The 1st is destructive and done inside the sample edit. The other is real-time WARP which is won't I'm comparing it to because the SP does its BPM SYNC in real time. The MPC WARP creates nasty sounding artifacts that I feel aren't really useable.
@LiftedNoise Жыл бұрын
So it turns out BPM SYNC is not actually time stretching. It is pitching the sample in order to fit the current Tempo. Sorry for the confusion.

@LiftedNoiseКүн бұрын
@Exitthematrix2020 the most crippling part is diving in and out of the Pattern sequencer, but other than that I think the menu diving is not very deep. Maybe some of those added functions from firmware updates but I dont really use any of that.

Great video, just have to point out 1 thing: What you're calling timestretch on the SP is actually just changing the pitch. That's why it's so clean with no artifacts. Comparing that to timestretch on the MPC is apples to oranges.
@LiftedNoise Жыл бұрын
Well damn 🤦♂️ I knew I should've checked my work. I had put it through a key detect app and thought it gave me the same key after using the BPM SYNC. Also I guess the pitching is so slow and subtle that I just didn't notice 🤦♂️
