My father had a 73 GMC. What I remember most about traveling in that RV was being stopped 4 times by Georgia State Troopers who wanted to look inside. Great memories.

It's a great coach. Someone loved that GMC! Cabinets, maroon colors and seating are not original. But it's nicely done.

I've wanted one of these bad boys since the movie "Stripes". It looks like a comfy ride with plenty amenities but not oversized like some of the motorhomes today. The only knock against it would be horrible gas mileage. Surely someone could put a smaller, more modern but just as powerful engine in this thing that could double or maybe even triple the fuel mileage.

It is a great size, everything you need! And surprisingly easy to get in and out since it is quite low to the ground.

I love it. When you said ‘ it’s not for sale ‘ my hopes of finally owning one crashed. ☹️

Thank you for watching, sorry to disappoint! They do come up for sale every so often. The best best is to join an online group for fans of these motorhomes and see if you can find one for sale!

Yes! Probably the most famous GMC motorhome :-) Would love to know where the original from the movie ended up.

I wonder if it's possible to get a replacement windshield for it

It would be challenging! There are many clubs for these units, so I am sure a parts vehicle could be located, or a resource for custom glass. It would be pricy for sure!

Many of the features you showed are not original from factory, neither is the interior. It is a nice refurbishment though.

The interiors of new campervans are made of plastic and artificial wood. In the old ones they used real wood.

That doesn't seem totally original to 1974 inside. It's giving me more of an 80s vibe.

Beautiful machine, but you need to be a Saudi prince to run it.

Not as expensive on fuel as some huge RVs out there. I drove one that was owned by my brother on many long trips and weekend getaways also and the fuel mileage was not bad.

She's sporting her retro "Hippie MooMoo" threads to complete the entire sales pitch. But you can be assured that the purchase price is very far from being retro.

Yes! This one is actually part of our heritage collection and not for sale. We just wanted to share our love for vintage motorhomes and tell the story of this unique RV! Thanks for watching.
