I also love all your clips. Your chirpy nature is addictive . Today i dyed my first sock yarn. With acid dyes . They turned out great. I have family that is interested in joining in as well . 😁 my favourite was crimson red with teal speckles.

Hi ! I'm Brazilian and I love your videos .. I would like to know how you twist the crochet line at the end ?! I tried to do it here but I can't. do you have a video showing you winding the wire after it's all painted?!

Here is a small example of how I twist up a skein kzbin.info/www/bejne/iqqcoY2QqsSJadE I hope it helps. (The video is SUPER old - I'm not sure if I have a more recent dedicated one)

Your yarn turned out beautiful and if this is the one you mentioned in your "broken foot" video; I think it would look stunning as a shawl or shawlette possibly mixed with white...

So this was all from left over food coloring? Looks fascinating to try.
@ChemKnitsTutorials6 жыл бұрын
It was! I had saved the food coloring that had been on measuring spoons, the bottom of cups, and unused over a few different dyeing videos and got these two mixtures. :)

Rebecca I have recently watched a couple of videos on shibori dying and was wondering if you could do it with maybe your silk scarves or sock blanks or t shirts like when you tie dye? It is really a pretty technique.
@ChemKnitsTutorials6 жыл бұрын
I have done a few things that are shibori-esque in terms of folding and wrapping up fabrics. I would love to explore this more in the future, though.
@laurelwolfe36156 жыл бұрын
That yarn is gorgeous! How do you collect the left over dyes? All I can think of is swishing the spoons in the cup of leftovers or using the leftover liquid to rinse the cups. So much inspiration. Thank you for sharing.
@ChemKnitsTutorials6 жыл бұрын
Sometimes there was literal dye in a squeeze bottle that I had mixed for another project. Or the ends off the spoons and bottoms of the cups. I like to try to save it all for some magic. I have a feeling that this had a lot of black, blue and maybe some purples in it.

Hey! I love this tutorial. I am looking to try and dye macrame rope using this method, is this possible? Would I have to use a particular ply? Does it just need to be single twisted rope? Thanks x
@ChemKnitsTutorials4 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately I think most macreme rope is cotton based, right? Food coloring cannot be used to dye cotton - you'll want tie dye or fiber reactive dyes for that. I'm sorry that this won't work! Here are some cotton techniques: kzbin.info/aero/PLFvm3Bz7dhaWgsthkBEafNoljTWJLn5cY
