hey first of all thanks for the very good tutorials :D just started yesterday with a friend and this stuff helped a lot. i still have a few questions still and was wondering if you could help me. how does this ore detection system work in SE ? do you have to equip the drill? how close do you have to be to an ore node to get it marked on your hud? just saw an silver node and cant seem to find it anymore :D

Welcome to the community. I'm glad that you are finding the tutorials helpful and yes I'm more than happy to help you. In regards to ore detection, your handheld drill can detect ores while you walking along the ground, sometimes in flight if you are low to the ground. Depends on the depths of the ores. Large and small grid drills DO NOT detect ores, therefore you must have an ore detector on your miner. Ore detectors can detect ores at much greater depths. Off the top of my head, I think small grid can go to 150 meters deep and large grid can go 500 meters. I may be wrong there. There are sliders for ore detectors in your control panel (default "K" key if on mouse and keyboard) These detectors will work while flying but ONLY if you are within range. ie if a deposit is 200 meters underground and you are flying @ 500 meters above ground, then the ore detector will not detector the ore. You have to be within your detectors maximum range to detect the ore. I hope this explains it and I'll try to get a tutorial out that better demonstrates how they work.
