We've had some family down for the last few months, so recording has been an issue, since we are spending a lot of time touching more grass than I'm used too....lol. That is why the 2024 series hasn't been going on. But I needed to get a video out and only really had enough time for something short. Rest assured, I have not abandoned the series or the other 2 series for that matter. More to come on all of those fronts though.

WOW, that intro was OFF THE CHAIN!!! That took a LOT of time to do; much appreciated!!! I have a question about the use of antennas. Is a player relatively safe from pirate (or any faction really) by not building an antenna, or does it even matter whether or not you even have one? Another really fun adventure!

OH MY GOODNESS!!! This is AMAZING!!! So many ideas forming, so little time; better get started! I have a question about the power your lights use. I was under the impression that lights don't consume power, but use PCU (base points???) instead. Could you please confirm that? OH, and I forgot to mention that the INTRO was absolutely AMAZING! I was wondering if you used a "Sepia" color palette to make it. Also, it looked so '50s with that television border around it. Love what you do!
@demonatagaming

Thank you and welcome to the channel. Concerning lights, lights do not use PCU, but they do use power. I'm glad that you liked the intro and concerning the color palette, I'm not sure if it is sepia or not. The color palette was part of the SFX of the television, which is built into Davinci Resolve, although I do not know if that specific SFX is part of the free version or the studio version. Again, thank you so much for coming to the channel and leaving your comments and questions. I look forward to seeing you around the channel some more.

Hi there Demonata. Firstly, thank you for helping me get started with finally playing Space Engineers! Secondly, I have a question concerning the discarded stone. I use everything I mine, since it gives me iron, nickel, and silicon. What is your reason for spitting it out, unless I'm missing something. Thank you so much for posting this. Love your content so much!
@demonatagaming
@demonatagaming 2 ай бұрын
Thank you for watching and commenting and welcome to the channel. I generally use the stone as well and in this series, I do use it if I mined it by hand. But because I am getting the stone mostly from the Drill and Fill system, I felt that made things to easy, so I decided that I wouldn’t use that stone. It is just a choice to make sure that the gameplay isn’t too easy and that it forces me to have to mine for the basic elements.

Ah heck, my comment from yesterday didn't get posted. That was a cool initial montage with the BF1942 theme remix. Great job on clearing the Action List! You're surrounded by red beacons! Expect aggressive drones any minute now. Hehe, cooked that frame to death on takeoff You could do a Mod Collection on the Steam Workshop, add everything you're running on there, you add mods to it as needed, then you only need to link to a single thing on the description. Kind of the way other creators do. Lighting looks appropriate for indoor spaces on Mars, good job! Oh boy, try driving up or down that ramp during combat... Corridor layout looks good too, but I wonder how long it's supposed to be and what it leads to... Fantastic work on the scene/take transitions! Looking forward to seeing more

As always D2012, thank you for the comments and for watching. The only reason that I haven't done the workshop list is because I hate that I can only select one mod at a time to list. Why doesn't Steam allow me to check off all the mods at once, then click save, you know, like most normal lists on computers..lol. You'll have to wait and see what everything goes too...... I'm trying to use just two type of transitions, one for when a scene/topic changes completely, ie from outdoors to indoors or from one subject to another, the other mostly for when I'm just cutting something out that is boring, long winded, or not relevant to current topic/subject. Thank you for noticing though.

Are you playing on a server with other people? Do you own the server or does someone else? I don't make mods myself, but the MES Discord might be of some use. discord.com/invite/8rZpMqq I can say that if you are playing on a server, the changes would have to be made server side. Also, there can be more spawns on servers because spawns happen for all players logged into the server at the same time. The closer people are to you, the more spawns you are going to see.

And people in my server are frustrated with the factions from module encounters attacking them constantly so I want to reduce when things spawn but I don't want to mess with files I don't understand and was hoping for a mod or help from somone who knows how.

I appreciate your video. I was just curious as to whether or not you know why my wind turbine went missing after a night off from building. I have weather system activated as normal and I believe a lightning storm came through. It seems that my wind turbine tangled with a lightning bolt, that's just my assumption.. would I be correct to assume? Also if so, would a decoy be the best way to ensure my turbines protection? Or is there anything else I can do to protect them? Thanks for your help..
@demonatagaming
@demonatagaming 3 ай бұрын
Lightning could have done it for sure. Setting some decoys can absolutely help. Place a couple around the base and make them higher than everything else, just like you would a lightning rod, but keep a few extra parts on hard for the decoys so you can fix them right after they get hit.

Is there a way to make a spawn area instead of them spawning so far from a player? I saw [Cordsz:]. Is that it? I just cant get it work so maybe not doing it right.
@demonatagaming
@demonatagaming 3 ай бұрын
I assume you are talking about planetary spawns and if so you can type one of these commands in chat (in game) /MES.Settings.PlanetaryInstallations.MinimumSpawnDistanceFromPlayers.Value Where "value" is the minimum distance in meters that an installation can spawn from you. IE 1500. However, the number has to be higher than 0 You can also restrict the max distance they can spawn by using this command /MES.Settings.PlanetaryInstallations.MaximumSpawnDistanceFromPlayers.Value Again value is the number in meters that a spawn can occur. IE 2500 However, the number has to be higher than 0 AND higher than the number used in the minimum distance. So in this can, using the numbers that I provided, an installation will spawn between 1500 and 2500 meters (1.5 and 2.5 km) from you. Keep in mind however, that spawns occur based off of the distances that you travel in the game. These can be adjusted in the settings I mention in the video. Also keep in mind that depending on the terrain, spawns may not spawn if the terrain level isn't suitable for a grid to spawn on. For more information regarding these settings in the planetary spawn file, see this link github.com/MeridiusIX/Modular-Encounters-Systems/wiki/Admin-&-Configuration:-Planetary-Installations Hope this helps you out.

I have a couple of glitch transitions, but in this little video each cut is either 2.5 long or 3.5 seconds long, so adding transitions in there would have looked strange. But you will see a transition in the video coming Wednesday that this little intro is a part of.

Didn't know there were so many ambience mods for SE. Great rundown! I also like the voxel texture mod. It should turn into more of a grass color at a distance, but that can possibly be fixed if the author tunes it. (There's like 3 different LODs for which you can use different textures.) I agree that the yellowish glow is probably from the grass. It is there in vanilla as well, just much less intense. The game, I think, records the scene around the camera to calculate an ambient light color for objects close to the camera. For the ones farther away it turns it off again, because it would be inaccurate. If you don't mind using plugins, I've recently released "Projected Lights" which uses the spot light code in SE and applies it to interior lights. I swapped the grated texture for some others I found in the vanilla game, widened the light cones and added copious amounts of bloom. 🙂I got the idea from playing Alien: Isolation which projected light textures instead of point lights almost everywhere. It is also pretty effective at stopping light bleed, because most or all of the light is now cast forward instead of in all directions equally. For the aquarium I also enabled shadows by default, because I couldn't resist. It's just so nice to see the fish swimming around casting shadows on the aquarium floor. 🐠🐟 The inset kitchen, inset light and lit passage are also technically "interior lights" as far as the game code goes. So a lot of the newer ships with DLC blocks look quite interesting with the plugin.

Found this in the written guide of AutoLCDs 2 " You can use this script on cockpit screens as well as screens of other blocks. In order to do that you have to mark the cockpit (or other block) with the LCD_TAG as you did with LCDs. So by default you add [LCD] to the name of the cockpit in order for the cockpit to be recognized by the script. As soon as you do that the first screen on the cockpit will be controlled by the Automatic LCDs 2 and should display the usual message that you should write commands to custom data of the panel. If you need only this screen, you can write commands to Custom Data of the cockpit just as you do with LCDs. In order to use other screens you have to tell the script which screen you want to write to. Here is example of how the Custom Data of cockpit can look like: @0 AutoLCD Echo This will be shown on first screen @1 AutoLCD Echo This will be shown on second screen @2 AutoLCD Echo This will be shown on third screen " Tried this and it works, i was also disappointed by the "movie magic"

When using the jetpack, do you use W A S D to move Forward, Backward, Left and Right? Also, what key brings you back down to land? When you lie down on the ground to get a better view of things around your pod or whatever you're building, what button controls how to view either upside down or at an angle? I generally use WASD and C (down key) for movement. When we move upside down, we are using our jetpack to move us that direction. X turns you jetpack on and off, then use AD to rotate yourself upside down. Finally, the C key is also the crouch key for when you are not using your jetpack.
