Space Engineers - Doomed Road Trip (No Jetpack Survival)

Today we learn how to flip an upside-down rover in Space Engineers with only a drill. Because I'm unprepared like that.
We need to do a magnesium run but that means threading the needle between lots of enemy bases - in the Roadrunner rover over some lumpy terrain. And because we're using Assertive Combat Systems new Assert bases are popping up all over the place.
This is a Space Engineers playthrough series with permadeath turned on, jetpack and auto heal turned off, and no 3rd person view. We're using daily needs survival kit... with a Pertam start. iI's super dark, and the risk of failure is very high.
I must be absolutely nuts.

Great Series! I enjoy your videos because you show more of what it's actually like to play SE. Flipping rovers, running from lightning, searching for ores, normal life of an engineer. Keep up the good work!

23:40 - "I can travel more easily than them..." 😆 - you could not have planned that any better if you tried! A hinge or piston with a landing gear in component form could be a wise idea in the buggy (or any wheeled vehicle), along with an axle and a wheel - like a 'green-lane' offroad kit. The piston and hinge can be used to 'right' the vehicle or lift an end, if a wheel\axle needs replacing. A landing gear would allow the piston to lift the whole vehicle. The buggy is a cool vehicle, a small cargo container trailor (like those generator trailors road works use) would increase payload and stability. You said Sandstorm, so I immediately think "Darude". Ignore the thumbs down stuff, some people do that so it doesn't keep showing up in their feed. Meteor impacts get funky after a couple game loads, I think the voxels do wierd things when they are re-created each time - like that sound glitch - a good indicator. I investigate the craters when they are fresh\same load session, if possible\convenient (not always). Also, the trade lists change overtime/reloads - so could be worth re-checking on the station for Mg supplies or ammo itself - even Ag for medical backups - semi frequently. Twister - eat your heart out. Great cliff-hanger. Looking forwards to the next one fella - great series, production and host. 👍

Great episode, i to some times have problems finding the hole 😂,maybe time to make a bigger & better rover.

I would suggest you put down markers of the safe route so that you go the same way every time to the magnesium deposit. Then, you can build a cargo rover to get bigger quantities.

Might be a reasonable idea although the safe path is changing all the time as new bases appear (chance to spawn every 8km travelled). I do need a safer way to get there…. Thoughts on this?
