9:00. You just created a ghost. So for a Halloween special there could be a "haunted ship" that utilized this technique. I also wonder the practicality behind this, to project a holographic image of an engineer on one side of a corridor.

One thing I have seen which I may use myself is on small grid projectors where what you project is a brightly coloured single armour block strip, which effectively looks a like a reasonable approximation of a laser. Where I saw it being used was from the ends of fake welding arms moving around and creating a rather nice visual. Additionally projections can make good targeting sights for fixed weapons without blocking your ability to see around you

The self-projected ships are also new to me discovered them a few weeks ago when I accidentally started an Alien start. That give you a small base with a welder pit and grinder pit if you have the self-projection on a ship, you can just fly over the welding pit (with sensors to activate it) and the welders will automatically weld back any damage to your ship.

Maybe use a solid block backing behind the lettering when making the grid and maybe when it’s put into the projected it will show up better as it’s holosign variant. Though the neon tube chicken wire aesthetic looks really good. Maybe a different color as well. Yellow is hard to see in projection form
