You might find this hilarious. So I built this thing and was mining ice. Turned too sharp and turned it over. Drills were still going and before I knew it I was facing down vertically and had to bail out. It's still running and is drilling itself a very, very, very deep grave at the moment. I have no idea when it will stop. But I have lost sight of it xD

As Splitsie would say: Don't use P, P is Bad, Never use P. Drag a Cockpit from the "G" Menu on to the vehicle Toolbar for Parking Brake. Basically a sound design but for the "Axel" line I would have used a Half Block under the Cockpit and 2x1x1 Armor Slope for mounting the wheel suspension. I also like having an Antenna set to 50 meters which is the maximum range of the Ore Detector. This way I can see where the Ore is when not in the Cockpit. I know that if you are on a PvP server you might not want this.
@mynameisjeff-spaceposting14174 жыл бұрын
I have to admit I don't quite get all the hate for P unless you have a lot going on at the base. Yeah half blocks would give more clearance. Good note about the antenna and ore detector! This was built with PVP in mind
@SirTragain4 жыл бұрын
I don't necessarily hate the use of "P" but it is more hand memory between vehicles. When setting up a craft; it is easer to jump between them without needed to study each ones layout. For instance I personally will set the connector to switch lock on the #5 key and if it is a flying craft; the thrusters & gyroscope (which I group together) on #6 for power savings. If it's not in flight then the gyro doesn't need to be on. Likewise batteries are on #8 for recharge on/off and Drills for right & left click on to #1 and #2 turns them on or off. I'll put camera view on #4 this is usual progression to dock to connectors. Typically I'll leave #9 empty to clear which ever other had been selected prior just as you would to empty whatever tool you may have in your hand so you don't grind/weld a door you just want to open. Yeah that has happened enough times that it's a thing. Also thumb tapping the spacebar to break is safer than pressing "P" which has more of a tendency of causing nose diving a rover in to a flip.
@mynameisjeff-spaceposting14174 жыл бұрын
Oh good point about nose diving! That's something I learned after this video: turning off brakes on the front wheels prevents tipping forward. Useful for rovers with several sets of wheels
@martindonat32494 жыл бұрын
I would put the Drills on a Rotor/hinge construction to control the angle a bit ,to have a easyer aproach to underground stuff ,mostly i use straght down piston drill constructions though
@mynameisjeff-spaceposting14174 жыл бұрын
This was built more for PVP. In many cases in MP rotors and pistons aren't allowed. Most people just use flying ships at that point but I wanted to show it's possible to make it happen on the ground. I agree tho rotors and pistons are more effective

"P" is not good for the parking break, its better to open "G" menu and add the cockpit(handbreak), connector(lock switch) or landing gear(lock switch) to the hotbar. Not that important in this video, but I crashed many rovers that were locked onto ships into the ground when using "P" since its just a "lock" for all the things (Wheels, Connector, Landing grear)
@Darktotaled4 жыл бұрын
spacebar is handbrake btw, but for parking P is better but for connecting with a station, i recommend setting on G a "Switch Lock" button for the connector

Medium cargo container is 3x3x3 = 27 blocks and has capacity of 3375. Ratio: 3375/27 = 125 Large cargo container is 5x5x5 = 125 blocks and has capacity of 15625. Ratio: 15625/125 = 125 The cargo capacity is the same cargo-to-block ratio. It's just about the shape.
