19:50 (on teetering rovers) when driving rovers, its been said that setting the majority of the 'pulling' power to the front (like 60+ power) wheels and lowering the breaking (like 30%), and then adding the majority of the 'breaking' power to the rear wheels (like 70%) and only 30-40ish for the driving power, keeps it from trying to wheely when taking off or endo-ing when breaking (especially with a heavy load). hope that helps!

Alt + middle mouse button will let you deposit all your components into an inventory without opening it up every time. There's a bunch of quick shortcuts like that to help qol for the menus. Their all listed in advanced controls under the help section of the options.

Cheers for the reminder, I always forget about the shortcuts. For some reason the build planner short cuts are burned into my memory, I just seem to forget about all the rest 🤣

@@dread_mechanic Nice, remember that as a content creator it takes HEAPS of perseverance. Never assume it's not working. It just takes a bunch of time. You have a cool niche that can blossom into a solid thing. Don't stop. Any time you need any help or a voice in a episode etc. I'm down. I also have a really good editing Program and also OBS studio so I can do a lot. Cheers mate!

Cheers dude! Tbh honest I've been watching your martian survival series and it inspired me to finally start my own! And I might rebuild the outhouse, I just badly need the parts to begin with. And I noticed the mic issue after I recorded everything 😑 A friend of mine donated me some better recording equipment and I'm still learning how to set it up properly. I've already done the second episode and the audio is much improved 👍

I thought the whole point of this scenario was that the engineer *doesn't* have access to refineries and assemblers, making them *scavenge* for parts instead of the normal mining and manufacturing loop in vanilla?

I thought I’d try mixing a few bits and pieces from different mods to give myself some more options to play with. I was originally going to use the full build/jet pack restrictions that come with Scrapyard, but it made it very difficult to build mechs as some key components were removed from the build menu and those parts weren’t spawning frequently enough to balance out. So I decided to make this series more about building practical mechs that could be used as an alternative to more traditional vehicles, rather than spending every episode desperately scrounging for parts.

@dread_mechanic I feel you. I think the regular scrapyard scenario is cool, but I'll agree it's not for everyone.

Yeah I did a fair bit of testing before I started recording anything. After 4 hours of playing I only found ONE Custom Turret Controller in a random spawn and seeing as I need two for each mech arm I decided the build restrictions weren’t going to work well with what I had planned. So instead I’m using the MES mod with the Scrapyard & Assertive spawns so I’ve got things to interact with and fight. I might do a full restrictions survival series once I’m more familiar with the spawn rates of Scrapyard or I may try and adjust the build restriction settings to include the parts I absolutely need for mechs.
