Back in the dark days of D&D 4e, I DM'ed a campaign where one player was a warlock who had been cursed into the body of a teddy bear by a witch. His name was Heldric Rufflestump. Due to a bizarre series of events he ended up with his mind fused to the cleric's (due to rushed character creation, the cleric was called Faak'i Dontno as, when asked for a name, the player had replied "F***, I don't know" and it was elf-ified).

It's nice to watch the video of the stream afterwards, but it's a bit sad I missed the actual stream. The base you grabbed was pure gold, I see, nice job. About that supply caches: I made a breakdown on them and how to capture it. But it may disrupt someone's game experience. DO NOT EXTEND unless you want spoilers: SPOILERS: Okay, first thing, this thing contains a small cargo container with random loot in it, ranging from ingots to tools or components. On the outside, you have 4 doors, each with a panel next to it. Two of the buttons are active. One opens the door, the other detonates the warhead. Wich one is one changes randomly with every spawned supply cache. And this is the catch here, the warhead. It detonates if: 1. The wrong button is pushed 2. anything else then armor blocks is grinded or damaged in any kind of way 3. the sensor that protects the mechanism is triggered by a player entity If you would cut the cache in half, the center would look like this, from top to bottom: (every line stands for a single block of volume) Beacon Beacon Small cargo container Light armor block (leveled with outside level) Warhead Battery Programmable block Timer Sensor Control station On the programmable block, there is a nifty script running that detects grinding or damaging any block except armor blocks. The timer just runs the script. The Sensors range starts at the top of the battery and goes below the control station and covers the whole nail that is housing the script mechanism. The control station gives ownership to the pirate faction. You see now, there is a 50/50 chance to press the right button or to detonate and the script makes salvaging impossible right? Wrong. The battery is the achilles heel here. It houses enough power for the cache to be powered for more then a year. But if you drain the battery, the programmable block falls silent and you can happily start to grind the stuff down. I use a large atmospheric thruster that I put on top of the beacon, add a control panel to it and change thrust override to maximum. It takes ~ 15 minutes for a single large atmo thruster to completely drain the battery. After that, you can just grind down the doors, safely grab your loot and dismantle the whole thing. It's mostly build from heavy armor blocks. This method works 100% of the time and just needs some transport vehicle to carry the components over and a bit of time until the battery is drained. You should also know that everything below the outside voxel level actually is spawned into the voxels so if you want to deconstruct it, you must use a drill to get rid of the surrounding rock. If there is a demand, I can add some links to pictures where I digged up and cut open one of the supply caches.

Note to mod developer: Thank you for this awesome stuff :) The buildings in surface occupation are just marvelous. They both look good and functional AND are a challenge to crack. I really enjoy it to analyze and overcome your traps and surprises you put in there. On a note to the Cache: there is also a possible way to slip in if you grind the armor block below the door and fly through the gap with the jetpack active. I'm not sure if your script can be modified to include the armor blocks in the damage detection, but that would make the cache completely un-salvageable. Also the sensor may only detect players because I seemed I could dig up the whole structure with a small grid mining ship.

have you tried grinding the base apart? Grind the floors and walls of the cache and try to separate blocks from one another, can't activate a programmable block that is no longer attached.

this is pretty much what I did with the first cache I found. Yet you cannot salvage the parts in the lower area if they still have power. I think it depends on what is more important to you in that situation.

Could always cut them in half by tunneling around and building a small reactor on the lower areas after taking care of the war head.

Let's say you were flying the tipper and then out of nowhere a spider flings itself at you and destroys about half your thrusters, causing you to planet to the ground. You then find yourself completely surrounded by spiders.

Probably not something that is going to be noticed on a video this old, but...there is a hacking computer mod out there; you attach it to a grid and it attempts to claim a block every couple seconds with....well a 30 percent or so chance of success. Would come in handy for capturing bases like this; just bring the parts for one, slap it on the side, and answer messages while it preps everything for a pink paint job.

I... kinda feel the need to point out that a Conveyor Sorter would prevent "Bob" the B&R System from *most* welding operations, simply by not allowing it to pull parts. Not a true fix, but it would make a lot of sense for the salvage skiff.

If you match colors with the base you can get the color settings and set the builder to grind that color without hacking.

I've always felt like Luke should have used the targeting computer to hit the exhaust port and fail, blows a big hole right at the entrance or whatever. Then when he's the last fighter, and all seems lost, make a second suicidal run and use the force to nail it.

so several episodes now ive noticed there be spider sin your walls. well, thats because spiders can burrow into grids to appear on your ship if you've landed or have a base set up, normally this is intended for use on large ships as the devs haven't really deigned the game around small ships gone big. so. not like your gonna change your large small construction into a planet anytime soon but thats just why. also a bit of warning fo anyone who thinks there underground base is safe on an alien world.

I liked Rogue One. I'll admit, it's not the best, but I like it. I like a lot of things. I've watched playthroughs of EA's Battlefront 2 campaign, and I liked that just because it was well told. It may not be the deepest story and it may have been advertised wrong, but it was still a nice supplemental Star Wars story. Basically for me, it's this: if I'm not physically cringing more often than I'm getting wrapped up in the story, I'll like it. Doubly so if it's Star Wars related.

How to use batteries: Batteries will recharge automatically. You don't actually need to do anything with them except turn them on. The recharge option just stops them taking power from each other and thus recharge faster. Never use semi-auto or discharge. Those options do nothing useful.

Tex, I'm gonna call you there, the majority of these "Unanswered" questions and plotholes were answered or fixed in the Expanded Universe, the VAST majority of them. The issue is that so many people don't understand the concept that much of the content in the Star Wars Universe is in BOOKS and games not the movies. As much as people would like to disagree or spout bull shit out of their faces on this, the EU for the most part was canon. The EU opperated on a system of canonical "tiers" with the lowest tier being non-canon including things like Skippy the Jedi Droid. Canon items included things like Dark Forces (the story told in star wars games were canon, not so much the gameplay mechanics), and the Thrawn Trilogy. Just because you didn't bother to look for an answer in the rest of the universe (aka other than the movies and games) doesn't mean it wasn't answered SOMEWHERE.

They keep talking about how the salvage bomb would need a hacking mod but the B&RS already has a setting for automatically grinding down blocks not owned by player/faction. They are labeled "Janitorial Enemy Blocks" / "Janitorial Unowned Blocks" / "Janitorial Neutral Blocks" If the first one is selected then instead of automatically repairing every structure you blow up and then get close to it will just grind it down without you needing to hack anything. For Balance purposes, since I know you guys want that, you can just turn it on for the Kool Guy / Cow Tipper Mk ?? once you've disabled all turrets so then it doesn't feel "cheaty" I discovered this when a drone was mining to my base on an asteroid and I heard B&RS grinding something while I was sitting around doing nothing, looked around and saw a Red Antenna that promptly disappeared and went to the other side of the rock to see a new tunnel and the remains of a ship in there with drills.

I'm gonna be honest, I'm sick of haven. They have been there too many episodes. I miss them mining asteroids and flying the skyforge and building small spaceships. I love the series, but I would love to see them take off again

I don't think shack or anyone is going to see this but Rogue one for me was 1 of the best stat wars movies bacause of the story as a whole. And i don't agree with shack on the karakters because you do get to know some stuff jinn went through and cassian about what he had to do for the rebel alliance. Also chirrut (the guy with the stick) was one of the protectors of the temple so they want to see the empire fall as wel thats wy they sticked together. And no the scene where the alliance jumped in and fight the base on skarrif or something was not the best scene. The best scene was when Darth Vader borded the ship and cut down "the rebel scum".

SUGGESTION: Shack missed it during the Stream so I'll repost my suggestion here, there's a new Battlestar Galactica shipset mod for Stellaris on the Steam Workshop that uses the models from the Battlestar Galactica: Deadlock game so why not make the next season of Stellaris BSG-themed? Or finish the Republic campaign, either one's cool with me.
