Oooh this is a really cool idea. I'm curious though, where does the ship go while in warp? Is it moving along the line to the destination or does it remain where it was then transfer at the end?

ship micro teleports every tick from start to end, based on distance (10 seconds divide by distance).

Is there an effect shown from the outside? Like some sort of light around the ship so it’s not so weird to see a ship going insanely fast through your battle

This is a million times better than the normal warp-jump effect- this, and the warp-trails effect.

I like this idea better than what Keen has done but I would have gone with an approaching blue shift and a trailing red shift with a gradual flattening gravitational lensing effect in front and a narrowing tunneling gravitational lensing effect trailing behind. Alternatively, go with a Babylon 5 hyperspace effect.
