I teach about spiders online and this song is stuck in my head every day. It holds very true for spiders. The females are scientifically considered giants compared to the tiny (normal sized) males that very carefully attempt to mate....always facing the female, and yes they mate facing each other so there is less sneaky killing during mating. Some female spider species also require the male to dance for her and bring her a nicely wrapped food gift. The male brings the gift because if she's eating the gift during sex there may be less eating of the male.

There is a quirky show from the UK that I have loved for over 20 years called Coldfeet. ( Actress that you may recognize as Emily in Friends is in it as a character named Rachael).
