Space for Europe

Space plays a vital role in the EU economy and citizens' welfare but also in security and climate research.
In any one day, a European citizen uses 40 satellites to find their way, watch live TV, check the weather or make secure banking transactions. All these services are made possible by space technologies and data.
The major European space programmes, such as Galileo and Copernicus, demonstrate the strength of the collective to navigate on Earth, to face environmental challenges and for Europe to act as an autonomous international player.
The development of its own secure communications infrastructure in space is crucial to Europe's security, providing autonomous, high-speed broadband connectivity to citizens and governments, helping to build a safer future for all European citizens.
Space matters to all of us, helping to keep us safe and united.
