Well that brought back some memories. I didn't realise that the Space Invaders machines had any sound effects that weren't analogue. I've been looking at generating sounds by synthesis in an ESP or arduino, and KZbin recommended this video - so for once the algorithm is working! Think I'll be checking out your other videos, I like the way you're using KiCAD to show the circuits. About 15 years ago I spent a lot of time experimenting with analogue synthesiser circuits, so this and the previous video were also a bit of a nostalgia trip. You never know, one day I might actually make that synthesiser I've thought about all these years!!!

Thank you Ian for the kind comment. I found this guide very helpful for the SN76477 drive.google.com/file/d/1V8KfUu0S1J3vCST3iLIBWLaoyQ7mAXFH/view?usp=sharing Good luck with the synthesizer!

I liked the 14 pins each side description of a 28 pin chip. love the old school sounds, they are the sounds of my late teens.

hehe - I knew someone would catch me out as soon as I said it ;) - thanks for the comment. I feel the same way about these sounds as you. Many an hour spent in the local video arcade!
