This is how you make a Fizzy Rocket!
This is a science experiment from my book Stay Curious and Keep Exploring and is great for kids ages 5-12.
Materials
Book: amzn.to/41waqKp
Kids safety glasses (ANSI certified): amzn.to/3W2OXro
Adult safety glasses (ANSI certified): amzn.to/3MpRPvc
Film canister (pack of 12): amzn.to/44X3clM
Alka seltzer tablet: amzn.to/3W6RXDo
You will also need: water
Instructions
(1) Put on your safety glasses
(2) Fill your film canister about 1/3 of the way up with water
(3) Place 1 alka seltzer tablet inside
(4) Firmly put on the lid of the film canister and flip it over! Your film canister will pop directly upward within 3-20 seconds. The timing depends mostly on the temperature of water that you used.
Safety
Always wear safety glasses when conducting this experiment. Never stand directly over the film canister. If it takes too long to pop, carefully hold it with one hand, pointing it away from your face (and others') and pop off the lid to relieve the pressure.

Hahaa I actually refilmed many of these with my phone in different positions! I now have film canisters in random corners and shelves throughout the room haha

My daughters have been huge fans (as are my wife and I) since Emily’s Wonder Lab, and we’re super excited that you’re making these videos on KZbin now.

Love your reactions! 😀 Great way to get kids thinking about how different factors lead to different results too!

THANK YOU! This was just the video I was looking for. My daughter and I really enjoyed it and it helped her to finish the lesson she is doing on Newton's Third Law.

I love this experiment for many reasons but it is very near and dear to my heart because in middle school they had student-led show and tell science projects and this was mine. I had to gather enough film canisters in the heyday of 35 mm and the alka-ser and water enough for the whole science class. Plus make a poster board presentation about it. Definitely going to carry it on with my children this summer

My kids want to do this one right now! Love this! Also, weird side note: your videos look like an old VHS glitching on our tv. On my phone they are is normal, but the tv is all glitched! It’s just this channel too 😢. We’ve been watching through the glitches.

Oh no! Is it still loud? I even lowered the volume on the title by 50% compared the the last one! haha I'll try to tweak future ones! Thanks for letting me know!

Question...has anyone found larger containers that would work for this experiment? I figure larger container with more tablets would be fun for the middle school crowd. 😂

Emily makes a mess 🙂 I feel like we would get more rocket scientists if this was a physics or chemistry lab done in middle school.
