Thanks for uploading. Great inspiration! Seeing a photo of someone Jugging below there while following/cleaning this pitch, hanging in space with haul-bags suspended far below earth-orbit ledge on Spaceshot is the reason I got into Aid Climbing 20 or so years ago. The funny thing is I never made it onto the climb. I vaguely remember partner and I climbed to the base of the head wall one night; pizza and beer in tow up to the ledge below the head wall. But that was while we were waiting for our turn to get on Prodigal. Just looking for a fun place to spend the night. Anyway, this just brought that dream back to life in a big way. I remember staring over at it on just about every belay on Moonlight and Prodigal thinking “one day...” Thanks again for re-kindling an that old dream. I think it’s time to pull the hooks back out and get back into the aiders. Aloha!

16:45 looks like a camhook to me. Nicejob on the send!

Harlin Brandvold no cam hooks were used here, just a typical hook that is friendlier on the Zion sandstone.

This route is one of the finalists as my climbing partner and I choose our first big wall to climb. The head cam perspective almost makes me feel ill sometimes, The idea of traversing across a ledge like that wigs me out more than the idea of face climbing at the same height. I am going to get so spanked on a wall.

Did you fix and fire or go ground-up in a day? How much practice did it take you to complete this objective? Finally, why'd you haul on a single day ascent? Wouldn't that just slow you down?
@kwagner0593 жыл бұрын
Ground up in a day. This was our first aid wall and I think we had practiced on a couple pitches first. We hauled water, it was fast and light and easy for the leader to do while the second was cleaning.

shit man, that sky hook move took some balls - good going! Though a great placement for a hook, I still don't think I would trust a hook and that sandstone?
