jack, 3 things: 1) congrats on your upgrade--757 is a beautiful aircraft and I'm sure you are happier than flying the regionals My brother retired from Delta as an L-1011 captain many years ago. 2) my condolences to your friend on the loss of his son-to lose a child has to be the most devistating experience. 3) amazing he got in at his age, but my prayers are with him, and all of our troops, that they come home safely.

Hold on guys, I'm a Delta pilot CRJs and just recently the 757, I have a friend who was a UPS air freight pilot for 8 years before his 18 yo son was killed in Afghanistan. He joined the US Army at the age of 39 (by waiver and passing physical examination superbly of course) and is now a Black-hawk pilot, so its possible....

Actually, it ended up landing on 25 Right (I'm guessing because 25R is about 1,000 feet longer than 25L).

@Joshua Reape they did that when they tested the space shuttle. If the shuttle had to land in California instead of Florida they would fly it back to be refurbished and prepped for the next mission.

Usually you go from military to the commercial industry. I've never heard of anyone doing the opposite like you say you'll be doing. Your story doesn't add up.
