The #1 priority for me is to create an ambience with heavy focus on the auditive experience. No immersive ambience should have a hearable loop and every video is filled with recorded samples, that may only be heard just once in 2 hours. Every ambience should be as unique as possible and provide a realistic and immersive experience for the listener. Sit back and enjoy!

‘I walked into the bar, instantly receiving the same energy from the other patrons that I myself was feeling; tiredness, stress... relief in stopping by this small speck of pit stop in infinite abyss outside. Complete strangers shook hands and spread smiles in mutual understanding. I took my Tetabel roast coffee and Dorvian oat biscuits from the bored-looking waitress and sat in a plush chair two tables away from a window that just missed out on a view over the rest of the station, and my light freighter, the Bandicoot, docked on the far side. I placed my coffee on the low table and sank into to soft cushions of the chair, refusing to put music in my ears given the peaceful ambience of the atmosphere around me. The soft hum of the station’s life support systems and the hubbub of conversation helped my weariness slowly take over, only aided whenever the muffled rumble of a departing starship passed close to the module. I started to close my eyes, finding a bliss in the thought of staying here indefinitely, only to have that bubble burst by the reality of having to get on with my travels in the morning. But for now, I’ll just enjoy this little slice of sanctuary.’

This a great soundscape. In the early 1950s, before television came to most small towns, there was a radio drama show. I think its name was Science Fiction Theater. It presented a different science fiction short story every week. As a small boy I was enthralled by its "aboard the space ship" background soundscape. It was similar to this, only cruder and not so detailed. A sort of rumble in the background, people talking, and various noises like electronic instruments. It was so good I used to wish the characters would stop talking so I could really listen to the background. There was another good sci fi drama radio show also on at that time, but I can't recall its name. Maybe somebody remembers this stuff.

At least you can take solace in the fact that based on what people 50 years ago were thinking was going to happen is completely wrong and the world is still not a paradise of technology, despite advancements thus far. So it may never happen at all, which means you were born in a perfectly good time and can live life to the fullest in the now.
@CptSchmidt
@CptSchmidt 2 жыл бұрын
@@johnbuscher Pretty narrow take there, my friend. History is much older than 50 years. Go back 600 years and the simplest things we take for granted would sound like science fiction that we can't even dream of. Imagine telling Christopher Columbus in 1490 that in a few centuries he could FLY from London to an even bigger city not yet founded called New York in the world's not-yet-founded greatest superpower on a supersonic jet in just three hours. Or imagine telling Captain Cook that in a few centuries he would navigate the world not by stars but by satellites launched into space sending him a constant stream of directions not on paper maps and charts, but on digital screens, and that his ship wouldn't be powered by wind and sail but diesel engines bigger than his ship, and that his ship wouldn't be made of wood but steel. "A ship made of steel? Ha!" he'd say. Imagine how many people argued without ever being able to look up answers to settle a debate-the entire wealth of human knowledge is now in your pocket thanks to smart phones. When Christian missionaries first encountered North American indigenous peoples and showed them communication by writing, many of them believed they were demons and killed them because they couldn't conceive of the possibility of communicating perfectly clearly by way of written language, it seemed like supernatural witchcraft. 50 years isn't much time at all. We can't conceive what will change in the next 500 or 1000 years. Entire countries we can't even begin to imagine could exist on Mars, the moon, in Alpha Centauri, or who knows where. Miners might work on asteroids instead of underground on earth. Growing food might become a thing of the past with the advent of replicators. Instant transportation could eliminate cars, planes, and boats for the movement of goods and people. Or an asteroid might crash into Earth tomorrow and wipe us out or set us back a few centuries or more. Maybe nothing will ever change again. The point is, we have no idea. Just because we haven't got all the technology people thought we'd have by now 50 years ago doesn't mean we aren't in a "paradise of technology." I think if anyone living a few hundred years ago were to step into today, they'd disagree with you. They'd probably think the availability, abundance, and affordability of basic personal hygiene products, clothes, medicine, rapid transportation, and every type of food you can imagine year round would be technologically miraculous to them. I don't see why having envy and hope for the future is mutually exclusive with living a full life in the present.
@tagnade
@tagnade 2 жыл бұрын
@@CptSchmidt You're completly right. When you look at the technological improvement from 1500 to 2022, you couldn't tell how much changed because it's nearly everything. I mean, yes more then 500 Years is much from the perspective of an human but compared tho the evulution of human life it is nearly nothing. The 21th century isn't even a extremly bad one, if you look at all the centurys before the 21th it is normal. And with the technoligical advancments of today we CAN invent sci-fy like things much faster than we would think. We don't know how long it will take humanity to evolve technology like massive spaceships or spacestations or if it will happen at all. But I can surely say, that sadly I won't expirience this even tho I'm 14 years old. But if there is an afterlife and you could choose the time you want to live in I would defenetly choose the year this ambiance plays on, because I just love space. Thanks for reading. :)

They must be doing fine on X45BHI, if I'm getting messages from them. Oil stained my orange work jumpsuit, and my metal helmet was dented from accidents at the loading dock. I enter the decontamination zone, as the doors close behind me. An announcement is made: "All Workers please be cautious in the Storage section. A creature has escaped, just the usual people, stay calm". I grunt as I unzip my jumpsuit and put it in my locker. Taking my helmet off, I close the locker and put it on the hook. I stare out the window and into the loading dock. Another announcement is made: "All workers can proceed, the creature has been caught". A ship leaves, and so do I. Going back to the barracks, I wait for another day of hard work.

It’s almost funny how we used to sit when on lunch-break during Outer Station Maintenance. We’d grab onto the hull, pull up, and sit our butts on the station, like we were in chairs, then we’d just use the chin-buttons to activate the meal-supply. Ah, I even remember this one time a guys “spilled” some sacra into his rations. We were glad he was tethered to the main-line as he would’ve stumbles off the side of the ship, he was so drunk. Good times.

Just popping in late to mention that Moore's Law doesn't really hold up anymore. That era is over..... For now. Still, It's not like we need such an explosion in raw processing power. We're already at a point where we can simulate the vision of walking in VR. At this point, immersion of movement is mostly just limited by money and resolution now that we have room-scale tech. If we're fine with room-scale, the only thing that really remains now is touch. There are other senses too... But once we can look, move and feel, we'll be fooled easy enough. As for that last one... ...Well, for what I know, that just remains to be seen. Exciting times, really. All that's for us is to watch, wait... And maybe try to partake.

"Beauty, ain't she? Five hundred tons dry, eight light-years an hour full warp, and one hell of a z-pinch pulsedrive for sublight!" Mark Wellborne paused for a bit as a rocket tug zoomed overhead, blaring ion jets raising the ambient sound from blaring to utterly deafening. He caught his breath, checking to make sure the man was still listening, and continued. "Best of all, almost good as new - only five months flight time on her, and I checked her on the regular. Buy now, and you can be well out of Fed space by week's end." "Why so cheap, then? A used Svetovid Kodiak would sell for twice as much, easy." The man looked impressed, but still a tad skeptical. He was young, sharp eyed, looked ready for trouble - not the type Mark usually considered an easy mark. But the man had come to him, not the other way around, and with a look like he was trying to get away from something fast. Mark chuckled a bit. “Tell you the truth, I’m trying to get ‘er off my hands myself. Got a real surprise windfall off a recent transport mission, enough to trade this rustbucket for a shiny new Tachne Dynamics Type-19.” Now came the crucial part of the sales scam. Reveal a “flaw” they’d accept, so they wouldn’t go deeper into other matters. “Since that I got this one from a… let’s say less than questionable dealer, it’d be a hard sell above the table, but since you look to be running out into spinward Gamma that’s not likely to be a concern.” The young man sighed, looking up at the craft's looming hull. “With my current record that’ll be the least of my problems. Can you get it ready to launch in eight hours? Any more and I’ll be pushing it close.” He tapped his smartpad, and a hundred million credit found themselves in Mark’s digital wallet. “Boy, I can get it done in three.” Mark grinned. He hadn’t totally lied. Yes, he had made enough money off the Xythothik artifact delivery to buy a vastly superior astroframe, and yes the original purchase of the KT Liberty Bell was rather less-than-legal. But the delivery had given Mark more things than two billion in shiny new credits, such as the rare form of xenobacteria slowly eating it’s way through the Bell’s silicon. A week from now, feds would be the least of the young man’s problems

It makes me so happy to hear that creatures of all kinds enjoy the peaceful ambience of quazon station, Null-5. A few years back I used to work in docking maintenance on a similar station in the roshuu zone. The friendly warmth of the passengers and the laid back environment of the bar me and my coworkers went to after our shift brings back good memories. These days I work in galactic enforcement on my home world, Eleisis. Hope everyone has an awesome time they next stop at their favorite space station ^ ~ ^

This is my favorite so far that I've listened too. I love the sound of airports and the idea of what the future holds when it comes to space travel and this mixes both beautifully.

I really like what you've done here. The ambient noises are just the right amount of interesting, while not getting in your face, and occasionally you throw in an overhead page or an engine ignition to give it a little extra spice. Thanks!

I've only recently started using stuff like this instead of music, and holy hell the fact that you actually created an ambiance that would fit in a game or movie helps so much more than those that just go "10 hours of a specific kind of low hum white noise lol" Thanks, subbed and belled :)

I work in a windowless office and get a lot of benefit from ambience videos such as these. Though I also enjoy your other videos I would love to see a sequel to this one. Very well done!

@@AmbienceLab Hi, thanks for the reply. I especially appreciate the clanking and noises that sound like they are coming down a long metal hallway. I also enjoy the loudspeaker voices and what sounds like conversational chatter from far off. The opening and closing of doors also adds a nice layer. All of these elements give me a feeling of a populated space station. That populated aspect is especially helpful for me when I'm working. It's nice to feel like I'm in a busy setting. That sets it apart from your other "quieter" ambiance videos, which are excellent but for me serve a different purpose. Thank you again for your creativity and skill!

I love all your videos - but there is something really special about this one in particular. I have it on while I'm working, I have it on before I go to bed -- I find it so supremely relaxing! It is immersive without feeling distracting. Stellar work.

Very good ambiance. A space station full of life and noise. You can hear people chattering, door open/closed, tools, cargo, space ship engine. This is perfect, thank you! I especially love the announcements!!

Thank you Very Much for this. For months, I've been having difficulty sleeping and experiencing night terrors. Last night I decided to change one of my favorite YT videos (ambient music) to a spaceship ambient one. I was fortunate to find one which contained white noise plus a light pulsing effects. This morning I was awakened to full daylight by beeping noises, then to a very pleasant female voice with a slight accent - an entirely differently video chosen by YT. I fully opened my eyes and was pleasantly surprised by your graphic on my large screen. I don't ever recall seeing it before. To be honest, I've never awakened to a more welcomed and calming experience. For about a second, I actually believed I had somehow left the current horrid timeline, and traversed to a future timeline. I felt no shock, none of the previous negative feelings or trauma came flooding in, and I found myself in somewhat of a neutral state. I sat up to hear, "Attention please. Galaxy Class interstellar transport "Epsilon Eridani" ready to board on Gate 17. We recommend to check again that all pets are secured in their zero-gravity cages due to nebular turbulence along the trip." That made my awakening a truly positive one. I thank and appreciate your unique composition, and truly appreciate that you expressed continued care and safe welfare for our future space pets. :D

This is great! Too many space station ambiences sound completely empty, but the crowd speaking in the background of this video really brings it to life! I imagine myself walking through the bustling commercial district of this space station, possibly about to sit at a bar. Great work.

I hope in my lifetime, a station like this will exist. I know that is really optimistic, but a few completely revolutionary breakthroughs could make it possible.

Silly juvenile fantasy, id like to get a replica of a Farragut Battlecruiser from Elite Dangerous built somewhere. and live inside it as my home, it's a capital ship so it's 2km long guess I'll have a few spare bedrooms.
