i hope it isnt too late to make this comment. i am a person who loves engineering but i am still many miles away from actually studying aerospace engineering. I am glad that you made such video that simplifies things and keeps me motivated. thanks for the free contents. I appreciate

One of the reasons why you can't shoot out more propellent with an ion engine is the limited amount of electricity you have to charge the particles.

Are you serious about Chinese launch vehicle for humans at 6:53? I did not see any escape towers on it, and I think they use CZ-2F to send astronauts to the orbit.

rockets are actually pretty efficient if the mass fraction is high. the oberth effect is an interesting example.

Hey Andrew, I am a very big fan! At 07:20, could it be possible that MIT students did not know what the natural logarithm is?

As +ve ions exit the engine, aren't they slightly pulled back by the -ve end, how big is that effect?

I believe ion engines put xenon gas in a plasma state, so it's extremely hot.

Electrodynamic tethers were not mentioned. Applying a charge to a tether which opposes the local electromagnetic field will cause it to push against the EM field if it is moving across the field lines. It is possible to reverse the charge and cause it to drag across the field lines to a lower orbit. Spinning oblate EM fields are another method of propulsion. Harmonics and topology of the fields is important to understand.

Not even in college yet and as soon as he said how do we move around in space.... Instantly thought by using an opposite force, mass out is mass/distance gained. What school is this?

i thought/hoped they are "distributing" the answers... i mean... he asks a question, and multiple people answer, and each only says one thing, while I've already compiled a list of all those answer-things which all of the answering students collectively get to...
