Spaced Out - Cheap Amazon spacers for your Kubota BX

Threw these $65 2" spacers on my Kubota BX23S to help with stability on hills.
UPDATE: Looks like they sold out of 2" spacers within an hour or two after my video... You will want the 2" (50MM) spacers, not the smaller sizes they offer... There are similar options available from other manufactures... just study the specs and make sure they are the same.

Wow some of these guys that know everything are on you. I did the same thing with the spacers that you did. I've had spacers on my jeep JL with no issues 3 years 50k miles. I went with - 20 windshield washer fluid in my tires. Doesn't get thst cold here. Good video, I enjoyed it. run the hell out of the spacers. Just try to keep it under a 100 mph.😂

Can I recommend that when you retorque the spacers after a few hours, that you use a shorter extension to reduce flex. I probably would have used blue loctite on the bolts & nuts holding the spacers to the axles. Good video.

Extensions do not affect torque value. Even if the extension were to twist 10 complete revolutions, before hitting final torque value,, the torque at the nut and at the wrench wold be the same. Only thing that matters is to keep it in the same rotational plane, just as if you had no extension. Loctite isn't a bad idea, but I've never used it on spacers for cars and trucks and nevee had an issue... I would retorque any time the wheel comes off though.

Called my Kabota dealers regional office to ask about warranty issues. They said it Voids the axle warranty because these can drastically change the load limit on the rear axle. Oh well!

Did you say the tires were filled with Beat Juice? If so that sticky substance shouldn’t rust! Old farmers would fill with water, calcium etc. and find in short order rusted rims. Enjoy your new stability!!

My dealership automatically fills everything they sell with Rimguard Beet Juice. 11 pounds per gallon, good to -35*F and non corrosive.

The beat juice eats the glue between the rubber and brass Schrader valve, when you go to twist the cap off to check tire pressure it will blow out and your stuck holding your finger over the end of the hole covered in brown liquid...ask me how I know!! Second time I was off to the side when it happened. 🤣

Outer axle brgs small to begin with.spacers will increase brg load ,along with hoe will shorten brg lfe.first sign of failure is a leaking axle seal.30 kubota tech

Better to replace a bearing or seal than roll the tractor.

Many tractors, including Kubota, sell their own spacers. Hence, spacers are supported by the manufacturer with increased loads on seals and bearings accounted for. But, when the spacer is wider than the manufacturers, the engineering no longer applies. My Kubota has 1 1/2" Kubota spacers available. 1 1/2" is approved. 2" is close enough:)

Thanks for this. I'm retired US Army Military Police and not much of a repair type person. How did you determine that spacers for a Jeep would fit on a BX tractor. I have a brand new 2020 BX 1880 without a mower deck and my dealer said I should limit my spacers to 1 1/2 inch. The link you had shows 1 1/2 spacers at 2 for $44.99 which is far less than the big named spacers so how do I determine if they fit my 1880. Thanks

Thanks for your service. I saw on orange tractor talks kubota forum about the spacers working. A lot of people are using them, and I haven't heard of any issues. I'd guess yours are the same bolt pattern, but you can measure yours to see if they are 5x4.5". Measure straight across, skipping the closest lug (like drawing a star).

I guess I'm not worried about being one of the cool kids. It's not like the tractor will be going more than 10mph if it fails. I'll take my chances on this one. I have too many hobbies to always buy the most expensive option. Who knows, brotek may just be reselling the same thing at a 4x mark up.

@@TimBruce1 I agree with dan yoder on this one. Wheel spacers are not the place to go cheap. The whole farm is riding on them .... literally. The cheap ones are cheap castings and break very easily. The good one are machined from a solid billet of 6061-T6 quality aluminum that also fit tight on the tractor hub. That's what should be carrying the weight and dynamic loads, not the stud bolts. The wheel hubs should also be tight on the spacer ring as well for the same reason. Neither of yours are. Maybe not as crucial on a slow moving tractor but can be deadly on a truck at highway speeds. The entire wheel comes off. Can be dangerous on a tractor as well for many reasons. Please take them off, throw them away and get good ones. Don't want to see you get hurt or worse, or have you experience equipment/property damage.
