Yes, I didn’t want to go into too much detail, Igor wanted me to keep it very basic until release, should be sometime this week. I only scratched the surface here, the App is very very Cool Beans, especially if you like experimenting with sound👍

Is it too late to ask a question in regard to this? It’s quite likely that I’m missing the point but I’ll give it a go. I appreciate this is geared toward ambience and what appears to be evolving sound however, how does it handle more melodic and repetitive sounds for example drums? To put this in the most simplistic of ways I can manage, if I were to put a drum loop into the app is it possible to play the original loop as it was originally and then begin to change/mess with this sound? Or is there something else going on here entirely? If the latter is the case I fear I may get lost in a sea of confusion at best!

Yes, this particular app is designed to manipulate and mangle sound, if that’s not your thing then you probably won’t like it. This app is definitely geared toward the more experimental side of music. You can dial the madness back a degree but in the end the point is to experiment with sound in the various ways the app offers. I hope this is helpful 😊

I think I get it. I was just hoping I could begin with the original sound and then take it into the realms of something experimental as a more gradual process perhaps. I’m definitely all for experimenting. However perhaps this isn’t the app for me. I love working with loops of sound/samples but I like them to fit an overall tempo, do you know of an app that is perhaps more suitable from what I’ve said so far? I was very fond of Fruity Loops for this reason, I would simply throw many samples into the sequencer and play with the length, pitch etc. I appreciate it might be a case of needing more than one app but I would like to keep it relatively simple if possible.

If you like working with samples there are lots of options, you should start by checking out Koala Sampler, then there is the mighty Drambo.
