Love The Smiths and the Bunnymen, but this, as a single, is the best song of the 1980s.

I know towards the end it all got a bit messy, and I was wondering if Alan Rankin had left by then? He's not in the video, but he was one of the cornerstones. Excellent upload though, thank you Andy Durrant.

You know there is something special about the music of the early 1980s...As a teenager I followed the path of Electro and then on to House Music etc, i always had a fondness for the New Romantic sound etc... Rediscovering this band and watching this performance just blew me away...

@MisAnnThorpe Alan Rankine left the group August/September 1982, but the group may have still had promo duties to fulfil after he left.

Good to hear from you, reactivate. I also did those two tracks but didn't post them because you already had. Are your originals the same recordings as mine? If not, we should be able to cobble versions together using the good bits from each. Please let me know.

Billy & Bubba - Infinite presense within, in Whom all live; Joy supreme, flooding all with eternal peace, I adore thee. I feel thy calm. As deep cries unto deep, so my thoughts cries unto thee and Thous dost answer.I am renewed and refreshed; my being responds to Thy love, and I am complete in Thee.O lover of my soul and Keeper of my Spirit, none can separate us, for we are one. So shall Thy Wisdom guide me, Thy Presence dwell within me, Thy Love keep me now and forevermore. I rest in Thee. SOM

I'm pretty certain that Michael Dempsey also played on The first picture of you by The Lotus Eaters as well. It definitely sounds like him and in fact the whole song sounds a lot like The Associates. By the way, where was the one and only Mr Rankine for these Gotterdammerung 2000 appearances?

This song in particular, Operatic, Theatrical, but definately original and unlikley copied from other sources. I am interested if anyone knew who they were influences though. His voice reminds me of The lead singer of The SParks.
