If you happen to have access to amazon prime Banana man Spacehunter is free to view on there. If not then definitely take the trouble to find a copy. Yeah, it's cheesy but it is such fun and you'll be glad you watched it.

Was pretty damn young but I remember this movie of the great 3D era in the 80's. I'd imagine it would seem very dated now but as a kid it was pretty damn exciting. Thanks for the walk down memory lane and you've earned a subscriber.

I really enjoyed this film when it first came out. The impressive music score that really pumped you up and got you in the mood for thrilling heroics combined with some truly wonderful and inspired vehicles - Wolff's spaceship and most especially his Scrambler made this one of the best scifi flicks in my opinion. At the time pristine clean scifi was the mainstream with Star Wars and Star Trek but this show, with its dirt and ramshackle vehicles was a nice counterpoint to that style. It can be remarkably sexy too, with Molly's Niki definitely holding an appeal and who could forget the warrior women rising out of the water that you show at 05:14. The film has everything. Peter Strauss nails the Han Solo style rogue, and Ernie is, as always, full of charm while also having a great vehicle to drive. Chalmers was a great character too, and I always agreed with Wolff's choice to buy her the nightshirt instead of the much needed spare parts for his ship. *chuckles* You really made me laugh with saying the three survivors were straight out of a duran duran video! That's so good! I am really glad you liked this film too, Mat.

I remember a good deal of this movie. With all its gaping holes and major flaws, it had some great set and prop design and makeup to show for. That death maze makes the entirety of The Running Man practically worthless!

Turanga1i1a glad I reminded you of this unfairly forgotten movie! Love the running man comparison 👍😎 thanks for watching and commenting 🙏

Thanks for this. I remember it's release but never watched at the time. Thanks to your review I have now watched it (along with my sci-fi-loving wife) and we both really enjoyed it. Some serious thought and serious dosh went into the production of this! Great sets, some great visuals (of the era) and reasonable far-spanning future human storytelling. Some cheesy moments but considering it is an early eighties sci-fi romp it is well worth the view. I am a bit hard-headed when it comes to movie score compositions, and a great lover of most classic music, but Bernstein did a great job here. Sci-fi lovers need to pick this one up if it's been missed....just like I have. Many thanks as always for your review.

Thank you Paul that's great to hear! It's always satisfying to know my review inspired a view of this underrated movie 👍 so good know you both enjoyed it 😅 I'm in the middle of planning a series of these movies that didn't get the recognition on release. Once again thank you Mat

Although I enjoyed this very dumb movie (in part to its 3D) and Peter Strauss and Micheal ironsides involvement. A very hit and miss production that at least looks good and Strauss charm carry it. He had previously been in Masada (81) and Micheal Mann's Jericho mile which proved a TV break (like Spielberg's DUEL). Strauss spaceship interior design is great but as a whole the movie is hit and miss. Was considerably better than JAWS 3D though (root canal treatment better than that though) Great review of a forgotten movie

Saw this with my big sister and all her high school friends in '83! Was hoping there would be more aliens and space battles - it was more like Road Warrior in space with mutants. The main theme reminds me of The Orville theme!

Did not know Blont ,Reitman and Ramis were connected . It was/is a really good sci-fi B movie , and captures the "80's" like earlier sci-fi B movies captured their own contemporary times back in 50's-60's. The movie itself has so much "suggestive" sex, including X-rated stuff you will never see now. (Classic of the 1980's , in reaction of the 1970's freelove and Disco Era) There is some good research in this review.

Chris Perrien thank you 🙏 totally agree it’s a Real slice of 80s that would never be repeated today ! Thanks for the kind comments yes I always research and cross check all my reviews Thanks again
