The game companies did not support him, they just gave him the rights to make the movie adaptations. Boll had found a technical loophole in German tax law that even if the movie he was making bombed the funding for it was covered. So the money he got for production actually went to his crew, actors, and himself. Which he was super criticized for, but he had already secured the bag for dungeon siege and blood rayne(both humongous flops).After that he kinda struggled to get funding for his movies. Picking fights with Michael Bay and Eli Roth pushed him further into obscurity.

I would do that for pretty much any other ad except for Raid, because Raid is just pure garbage, it's everywhere, they're really militant about what kind of ads you do (you pretty much can't go off-script even a tiny bit), and their ads are so fucking loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong. Of course, they pay well - because all their money goes into marketing and thinking of ways to trick people into getting addicted to the pay for win system, while absolutely nothing goes into actually developing the gameplay and improving their product. I watched this movie at my local mall theater during the matinee showing while I was waiting all day for repairs on my car in the shop. I knew it was bad, but I didn't want to wander the mall all day. I didn't think it'd be anywhere close to as bad as it was. There's quite a few straight to video movies that were far better than this movie. The only thing I remembered about this movie before the video was how the characters at the end just started sacrificing themselves for no reason. The movie wanted a sole survivor, but was too lazy to come up with ways to kill off the rest of the cast.

I just remembered the boat captain was in the original movie version of Dune. I want to say he was a priest in another movie but I'm not sure. He's probably done lots of stuff but never anything where I was like, " Oh yeah it's that guy. This is gonna be a great movie." BTW, your videos got me into a Seagal rabbit hole. Allegedly he's pretty closely connected to a lot of nefarious stuff. I mean besides his own behavior and things we aren't allowed to say that you shouldn't be doing to anyone but apparently happens a lot in Hollywood. Those Harvey Weinstein kinda things.
