I remember reaching 12.610 points on my phone and 12.550 on my neighbor's. The only way to do it was to play the 6th level three times and wasting all lives but one. Getting to the end of the game with only one life left was a big challenge. As big as the Super Mario Land.

you can score i think theoretically as long as you want. just wait till the first boss then.stay in the corner and shoot the bombs he drops. shoot with button 3 and you will keep shooting and scoring as long as you want untill you become bored.

Brings back memories! My method to getting a high score was to use up almost all my lives on level 6 or 7 (not sure) where there are lots of enemies . I'd kill myself on purpose to replay a section in that level then finish the the game to the end with just one life.

I think I was the only one among my friends that kind of beat this game. We mostly played Snake 2 trying to reach maximum score. We filled the screens and I got the highest score of about 3946 (which is a number that I remember vividly for some reason). I wonder if the game was designed to reach 4000 points if you ate all the insects and stuff.

there's a hack to this game, once you're in a shield press back then continue it will reset the shield's counter you'll basicaly have unlimited shield by doing this repeatedly. Also shield damages the boss so you can literally go straight to the boss
