Finally someone that gives a decent answer to the question 'why is my docker image growing'. I browsed the internet for answers but it always comes down to 'you misconfigured something' without helping. Thank man!

I just started using unraid just last week. Your tutorials are always fantastic and easy to follow. This actually came at a good time as I just hit that 70% warning earlier for my docker image earlier today. Thanks for this!

Does this still work in 2024? Does this work for data in the docker-img from containers which have been removed in the past? My docker image has a size of 48 Gigs while it shows that there are 18.12 Gb from images, 1,8 Gb from containers, 2.2 Gb from Local modules and 0B from building chache. Somewhere in between i have lost 20 Gb. Could this be related to the docker-compose plugin?

Great video, again! And thank you for the script, will come in handy sometime. I had this issue before. It took me some time to identify where the problem was. But ended up just moving the data in the docker terminal to the correct location and changing the config.

The info that your videos show is great, but I have a question that relates to one of your older videos. I am writing it here so that it may be seen quicker. I am running Sonarr, Radarr, and Lidarr. Are the passwords in the security section the same for each? or do I need to set a seperate password for each?

So is this method outdated now with the recent UnRaid release? I ran "scrub" on the dockers tab before running this script. Ran script and it found NO rogue containers.

My docker image increases some nights during an hour and then get back to normal, so I suppose some job is done in one of the dockers and then is deleted, so I am searching in the diagnostics zip for evidence, but no hit yet. Anyone knows where to find info about it? It is not in the docker log file unfortunately

Thanks for your video I hav ebeen using them over the last year, I am have a problem with my memory running at 100% and i thought that your script would help me solving the problem . however your script found that i have 2 Home assistant containers 1450MB & 1160. This i now believe that HA could be the problem as it pinned to CPU 3-5. Do you think that this could be my problem?

Thanks for another informative video! But unfortunately this didnt work for me. When it lists my containers/volumes almost all of them show little data used. It does have a long list of volumes though. I ran it again with both cleanup options set to yes. I didnt have any ophaned images and it cleared the long list of volumes but it only freed up less than 1MB of space. So my docker utilization is still high at 76 %. I added another 10GB to my docker image size which brought it down to 60%. I know this isnt a fix but at least Im not getting high usage warnings until I can fix this. Any suggestions from you or the community would be appreciated. Thanks!

I know this might be all late for you and your case, but I figured it out…. My Node IP address was not the same as my server ip address and that’s why my docker container kept getting full … As soon as I matched them, ny docker containers where from 75 GBs (75%) full to just over 6% full .. almost instantly

Hoping that you're still monitoring comments on this one! Love your videos, first off...I ran your script but it is not showing me one of the important sections..."List of docker volumes, the container which they are connected to their size". I will note that I am running UR, v.6.12.8. Is there a way to fix this? And, as I write this, it should also be noted that I am running with datasets (ZFS)

Great video, but it did not lead to finding the cause of my issue. I am not sure why, but I had to use the portainer unraid app which eventually leads you to add a container to run the application. I had 5 volumes there that were listed as unused under the volumes section once that was running. Prior to this, your script didn't see anything abnormal. I even deleted all my containers and the space continued to not go down. Now it's gone down from 34G used to 2G after those unused volume removal. I'd be curious what portainer does on that unused volume screen, as it might be handy to update yours to catch that scenario. Edit: wild amount of typos.
@rnwood1310 ай бұрын
I ran into this issue as well. I tried portainer based on your comment and, indeed, saw the unused volumes. There is a Github issue that 'docker volume prune' doesn't work as it used to, so you need to do 'docker volume prune --all' to remove all volumes. Not sure the full impact of this, but I tried it and it reduced my docker.img from 55GiB down to 5GiB! I suppose one could modify the script to include the '--all' but, again, not sure the impact of doing so on a regular basis.
@richardgeniesse614410 ай бұрын
@@rnwood13thanks, that's good to know if I ever see mine grow again. I don't know enough either if having -all on there each time could be harmful.
