Thanks guys! I'm so glad this setup worked so well! The trick was to get the right mic and point right at the headrest speakers. :-) But, shotgun mics aren't really good for rides since they don't capture background audio on purpose, so I used a regular stereo mic for this, but it worked pretty well. :-)

That's exactly what I did! LOL. I have the benefit of having an external mic that many cameras do not allow and therefore cannot be turned, but mine is separate and can easily be turned. :-)

I love this ride. We always ride it when we go to Epcot. I love the planetarium feel of it. I've always been inspired and in awe with science, our solar system, the history of life on earth and how it affects us today. The quality of this video was breathtaking again. Thanks for sharing Josh

Hi Josh. Even after 4 years, I still very much enjoy watching this video. Reasons include: 1. One of my favorite rides in all of WDW 2. Your photography 3. I LOVE the music of Spaceship Earth - classic Disney (which DOESN'T need to be changed) As info, I have "extracted" the audio from this video and listen to it on my MP3 player during my daily morning walks. Scott Luther , I noticed this myself and pointed it out to my sister. So we rode it again because (we love it ) my sister was sceptical. Sure enough, she now is a believer. There are many Hidden Mickey's in Spaceship Earth. But no one seems to talk about this one much.

Hi Josh. This is one of my favorite rides in all of Disney World (one of many). I really enjoyed this video, the quality was excellent, and you did a very good job of positioning both the camera and microphone. I have tried with my Sony Camcorder and iPhone video camera to capture the highlights of this ride in the dark environment, and could never come close to what you did. This will go on my "favorites" for youtube. Another thing I liked was the way you went from one side to another. Example: As you went by the scene for the "Phoenicians", you first went to the boat scene (which is what I normally look at), then to the right side that showed what appeared to be a harbor with lights from a seaside town. I don't remember ever seeing the seaside town scene before, which is really nice. I recall there were a few more of those. You've "inspired" me to do the same the next time I go on this wonderful ride. As always, thanks so much for what you do for us, and God Bless... Ken

Thank you! I didn't know that about Michelangelo. I always assumed the scene was accurate. That is very interesting. I remember reading about paint getting in his eyes while he was painting the Chapel ceiling, but I guess what I was reading didn't necessarily say that he was lying down. Very interesting! :-)

ResortTV1 yeah. In his journals he shows himself standing with his back arched backwards. You are correct, he does mention his eyes and the paint.

I film in manual mode with auto focus. I can't focus the camera while it's on the gimble, but I set the shutter speed and aperture manually. I use a Sony ECM MS 907 microphone. It's not make for cameras, but it works well with a shock mount that I bought.
