Fully crewed Perseus, Hammerhead and Polaris group will make a wicked hunting pack. Also, the person that said the Perseus won't survive a battle against capitol ships hasn't looked at the lore of the Perseus against the Vanduul. And those were the old Perseus that Admiral Bishop told RSI to put back into production and don't change anything. RSI did improve it though, specifically by installing modern shields because those Perseus were commissioned before the 1st Tevarin war when the UEE didn't have good shield technology.

@ Polaris was (almost) done at IAE. With 4.0 it was completed (captains quarters) So the team that makes the Perseus could only fully transtions some time after IAE. I would prefer if that team would have at least 6 months (may = Invictus) to make the Perseus a decent ship, and not some rushed piece of shit.

Indeed. Ships are going to forever be nerffed and buffed. Especially as they commit to defined roles and come out with new ships. One example would be redeemer and paladin. Both gunships but both fill different roles. The redeemer will be more of an anti-fighter gunboat while the paladin will be more anti-large ship. In some sense I guess they did nerf the redeemer to make room for the paladin but not in a greedy sort of way. They did it because it actually makes sense from a gameplay perspective.

@@Tekjive I think you're actually the one who's missing the point. It's not illogical to say that the highest performer of its class, by multiple standard deviations, is a prime candidate for a nerf. Going beyond that, In most games when new things come old things get nerfed not just to make the new thing sell better, because r3t4rds will always buy it If you put a price tag on it. They get nerfed to segment them within their own niche, which yeah is by its very nature going to make other things they're planning on selling more reasonable to buy. I don't think the idea that they nerf something to get the sales up elsewhere has no merit, I just think it's kind of like jorking it with a barbed wire tenga to view it as the only consequence tho. Best example I can give is that they just nerfed the ion again even though it was already underperforming, nobody is saying that was done to sell the guardian. Lastly, It's not impossible to reconcile that when the scorpius Antares still exists, that the teams involved with multi-crew ballance just have no idea what the fuck they're doing in general imo. Edit: trying to see if auto mod sniped me again.

They already went over that the Perseus is meant to take on capital and small capital ships where as the Hammer head is more tailored towards fighting off small strike craft.

I think you're underestimating the value of the perseus a bit. Now that torps are expensive and pdcs are a thing, having 2 twin s7 cannons to engage a cap or sub cap ship is much more cost effective than firing those very expensive torpedos.

I'm really hoping that advanced scanning ships/vehicles like the Cyclone RN, Terrapin, Tracker, and whatever new ones come out are able to detect and show us cave systems and minerals underground via ping and scan mechanics. It will give them a solid niche and make them useful

One thing I realized watching this is that the MISC Fortune will help in part develop the Arrastra (hopefully). My reasoning is that the external conveyor system will hopefully show up on the Arrastra so that once refining is complete the goods can roll out on the conveyor into its external storage. Maybe that's too hopeful but if we have to snap all 576 scu's ourself that will feel weird when we know MISC uses that same tech.

34:06 it WILL have pdc's, the 2 2x3's are automated by default but can be taken over remotely. Those will act as the pdc's

I'm really happy that they updated the Pioneer in the way they did. The old idea would have had issues, caused by designers concepting a ship before concepting the gameplay. Now that they have the gameplay, they have to reconcept the ship to match, and I'm glad they have. The ship looks just fine too.

I really wish CIG would move the cockpit of the ironclad to a clap-mount right above the command center (like a more traditional bulk freighter) and use the original cockpit mount as a docking collar (perfect for the legionnaire to hack / board). Plus, a top mounted cockpit would allow landing to be much easier as the whole front of the ship would be visible.

if i remember correctly there was an idea that ground base building we need haulers and refuelers repairs and build. that big spartina truck i believe was a refueler perseus is subject to change and 1 of the changes yet to be announced is the 4 PDCs its going to get

Still want a spartan ground vehicle shop. The Perseus was so good that it was still being used in combat 400 years later so they started another production run of them iirc. I do kinda wish the Pioneer had a bigger ship manufacturing bay so you could build a size bigger ship, it looks like there is enough room if you switched the ship and ground bay but maybe it was a height conflict with how "sleek" the bow of the ship is. Don't do much mining but low-key looking forward to the ROC-DS redesign, typing this out put me on team side-by-side dual lasers with a box maker in the back of both ROC.

Perseus is most definitely intended to take down capital ships. Not by itself of course. They've stated capital ship battles will be like a puzzle, working your way through defensive layers. But the Perseus has massive cannons designed to penetrate heavy armor.

The way I look at it, anything with size 3 shields is perseus food, and If you get a few perseus together in a wolf pack, they can take on bigger ships fairly effectively

Both the 2nd and 3rd vehicle could be cargo carriers. I think ground vehicles that can carry a larger amount of cargo are a huge hole right now in the lineup. The CSV SM, which only carries 4 SCU, is currently the largest ground-based cargo carrier in the game. It's still brand new (and unfortunately not very practical, as anyone who has driven one can tell you, the thing is constantly trying to flip over). With base-building on its way, it totally makes sense for them to give us some larger scale ground-based cargo carriers.

I see stuff like the Pioneer and I just can't imagine the game without NPC crew doing tasks as almost a requirement. I just can't logically see the need for all those crafting stations and drones and actually have gameplay interesting enough to have players sitting there doing these things. I have to imagine that this stuff is all build to look realistic and cool but have NPCs being the one to really be occupying most of these spaces.

I sure hope CIG doesn't go irrationally strict with cargo to the point where you can't try to game the system. Thats half of the creative fun. 'Making something work' trying to eke out just a bit more.

I don't think 'End Game' works for this one, because this game doesn't really have an end (except DOAS). You'll be able to build up to control frikkin star systems, get it all blown up and you are back to your starter ship to rebuild.. Maybe something like 'Main Phase' or 'fully upgraded' or, 'Fully kit-out'', or 'Advanced build'. I don't know. Its just that End Game sounds more like an on-rails FPS or RPG instead of an open world environment. IMHO.

What Fortune need is a salvage head of the Reclaimer or 4x small salvage heads to up its performance from the Vulture. Other than that, it's not worth the money.

about misc fortune,.. if the 6 hook point are like the raft but smaller. the 6 hook points on raft got upgraded. 2x3 base haed point isnt 6 points but 3x5 points w 120 external scu. cant do 10,12,16 nor 32. but can do a lot of 8scu boxes on raft now. which makes it as good as tarus nearly but box specialty. so 2x3 4scu external. thats 3x5 for 15x4 = 60 external scu on both sides 120 total... kinda rad.

I pledged for a Perseus purely because I like the way it looks. (And I think a crew of 4 can be effective with it.) I have never in 12 years bought a ship on looks, but the Perseus looks perfect. Congrats CIG, you got $600 more for your broken ass game.

i had a perseus for about 6 years. i crunched it to walk up again for saving and to get a polaris. if the perseus had all guns stacked together on the top and not having them split deck then id be all about the perseus. but nay nay nay nay... so maybe one day ill get the big ship i want. but not last year, not this year, and surely not next. so no big loss.

54:13 may 30th 2023 week end review dev talks. they did say that. however. montreal team, la team, manchester team, poland team. different groups have different manufacture assignments. what they meant was a ship back log team, +5 star review was suppose to be set in focus for RSI for the next year, and the following year after that agies dynamics, then on to drake, ect ect going round and round on the new ship manufacture specialization tree. ending with crusader then mirari sometime 2027. not that they would hault production on all other manufactures and only focus on RSI ships. and the new ship teamlead for signoff didnt arrive in june as planned, and arrived late august if i recall. so with all the 3.18 fixes, and the team lead signoff for new designs and 5star reviews ect was much of the delay for that year. part of why the polaris did not release jan-may2024 as told. but now that the polaris is in flight status with polishing... 6 mo later is expected timeline for galaxy, then 2-4 mo after that is supposedly liberator, then 5 mo after that is perseus. so galaxy should be nearly ready around july, liberator around oct. and perseus jan/feb 2026 in current timelines proceeding from what they said that may 30th 2023. then they will move on too agies dynamics and bmm. so total overhaul 5star review is now looking like 2029 completion, they they will cycle back too RSI again. with purpose and intent to always keep ships in 5star standings.

its lots of armor and very slow. 2s3 automated top for missile defenses, and 2s3 automated rear for snub rear defenses. aside from that, they said the 4s7 guns will track like normal turrets, because they are bispoke. but that means limited balastic ammo, and again like said split dual planes. i would much rather have 4s8 guns all on top since the mastermode/mastermode2.0 updates, and slow recursive aiming for bigger long range damages like the blockade buster/large/cap killer the ship originally was. but that is not what it is with split 4s7 guns. why i got irritated at the degrading development of the ship, and finally decided to crunch.

How refinery ship will work. Stay still and connected for 30 hours until refining process is complete or risk to loose everything with logout or (server crash) or some pvp events... Without mentioning how they will balance out the current refinery prices and time to refine?? Will a ship that small refine faster than a full size refinery?

You have to be an idiot to keep buying ships for this tech demo of a game, It's a great concept for a game, but they're more concentrated on making ships to sell to the suckers who keep buying them in the hope that this will actually become a game someday. I bought a few ships years ago, tried the game on and off for the next couple years and realized this game is nowhere remotely close to being anything serious. You are just wasting your time and trust me I really wanted this game.
