I think something in this conversation was very revealing... He says he supports MM because he isn't good at flying, then maticulously critiques gunplay/scope physics. He makes his bias as a veteran clear, so that's fair enough, but what is revealing here to me is.... Everyone wants THEIR area, that THEY like to be really deep, engaging, and as realistic as possible. Then, the other aspects of the game that they are not good at ... Those can be dumbed down and gamified. I think we, as a community, need to come to a realization, and Tomato hinted at it when they were talking flight....THE WHOLE GAME should be deep. Being ground forces, understanding how to calibrate your weapon, bullet drop, shooting from an elevated position etc should all play a role in that skill curve. The same should be true for pilots....the same true for miners....for cargo haulers....for engineers. There is VALUE in having someone with those skills, because not anyone can be a sniper, and not just anyone can be a pilot. WE are the character classes, and WE level up our skill. This whole thing where we level down to the lowest common denominator really should stop, on my opinion. Instead of dropping the skill required so we can all do everything, the game should be increasing the skill required so we have to pick the things we want to excel at.

55:54 A lot is in 3.23 yeah, it's big, but not "most of what they showed." It's loads of S42 ports, and basically every feature is a partial version of what they demoed at CitCon. Master Modes? Archetypes. Interactions? FPS. Reputation? Hostility. DCs? Surface. Starmap? Partial. Minimap? Partial. Partial? Partial. They showed off Armor Progression, Specialized Armor/Undersuits, Clothing/Armor Layering Refactor, Utility Pouches, Rep-gated Clothing, Starcloth, etc., but none of it is anywhere in sight, and people still say, "we got the new Dusters gear so check off Armor." Unreal. Hangars, Cargo, Freight Elevators, and Item Banks dropped off. Where's FPS radar? Scanning refactor? Hygiene? Fire? Maelstrom? Realistic Audio? Ray tracing? Multi-threading? The list goes on... Wanna say 3.23 TOUCHES ON most of what they demoed? Okay, fair enough, but we're over halfway into their timeline, nothing's been delivered so far this year, and 3.23 is not even close to half of what they showed. Being realistic isn't negative, and being positive won't change the facts. Just sayin.

I really want the scanning gameplay in. I sometimes go looking for good rocks to mine and sell locations for them to miners. That's the best we have for now. I did love scanning in EVE Online as well. It was quite satisfying to drop probes around and triangulate locations of players.

IMO Data running will go hand in hand with smuggling, because either way, your transporting something you don't want anyone to know about. The MSR was made just for that purpose.

It seems to me that SC is more like 8+ games in one. FPS, Racing, Mining, Exploration, Transport, Engineering, Flight Sim, Scavenging............ I don't really mind that ships can get expensive since this is one game that has basically infinite replayability. It is an absolute bargain at the $45 buy in point!

Npc crew is necessary with engineering so we at least have an option to stay somewhat functional if our corp/friends are not online, which is often. So i see it as hindering ability to enjoy most of the ships most of the time in this current state.

People in servers already are deep in their own jobs/ventures and most likely just ignore your plea. So you say I have to "hire" security and wait another 10-15 minutes in order to have somebody arrive at my desired position, IF somebody has enough boredom to do so? There needs to be an implemented gameplay loop and reputation system for security runs.

You all have amazing ideas, even though some might be a bit too specific for me. Still, I appreciate the effort in bringing up such wonderful points. I think we might be underestimating the potential here. Let's think bigger! Exploration Mechanic Dynamic Wormhole Network: Temporary wormholes exist and form spontaneously, connecting various star systems across vast distances. The SC Ark Starmap still contains several unnamed stars between known systems, possibly due to their lack of habitability. These temporary wormholes are inherently unstable and cannot be artificially held open for long periods at the current technological state. The UEE (United Empire of Earth) has developed technology to stabilize some wormholes, allowing them to be maintained for longer periods if properly powered. A maximum number of stable wormholes can exist at a time; any more and the existing connections may collapse. Exploration Opportunities: Discovery: Players may discover new wormholes forming or already open. Wormhole Probing: Players can send probes through a newly discovered wormhole to gather information such as distance, location, type of star, and age of the star system. Cartography Long Range: Players within the new system can explore and chart it, by mapping planets, moons, asteroid fields and nebulas with their respective location to the star. Cartography Mid Range: Of Planets, Moons, Points of interest, asteroid field regions with their containining valueables from distance. Deploying Temporary OM/s: Players can set up temporary orbital markers (OM/s) to assist smaller ships with navigation in the system. Resource Gathering: Mining and extraction teams can explore systems in detail, harvesting resources such as quantium reserves and other valuable materials. Alien Encounters: Players might encounter various alien species, some friendly and others hostile, which can lead to diplomacy, conflict, or trade. Sightseeing: Players can enjoy stunning visuals no one has ever seen. Events and Challenges: Security and Combat: UEE military forces may need to defend wormholes against alien threats or pirates trying to block or gain access. Strategic Planning: Fleets should be organized for expeditions into unknown systems, providing security for miners and explorers. Weekend Challenges: As wormholes near closure, alien species may attempt to take advantage, requiring player defenses and combat. Exploration Contests: Players can participate in weekly or monthly contests to chart new systems and discover rare resources. Procedural Generation: Randomized Star Systems: New star systems connected by temporary wormholes can be procedurally and randomly generated each week, featuring: One or multiple stars, and several planets or moons, possibly with asteroid belts and nebulas. Varied sizes and types of stars and planets (rocky, gas giants, ice planets). Asteroid fields, nebulas, and other space anomalies for mining and sightseeing. For Starters, Initial Lack of Habitation: New systems initially lack any living inhabitants, focusing purely on exploration and resource gathering. CIG could reuse all existing moons and planets and use them plain without any settlements. Its all about exploration and minin, with a lot of potential.

5x bunker missions with 5 code locks that have been in the game for years, 3x com arrays with some kill the space ship and mines, 5x Kill the space ships, 1x go to SPK and kill non-functional AI, 1x triple box mission that CIG couldn't even get to work properly for 90% of the player base. CIG could add something other than Comets that passes trough the local star system like like a wreck or an artifact. I'd really like to know how the telescope array of the endeavor is supposed to work/integrate in the exploration system

When I finally managed to complete phase 5 one of the boxes used the admin center box terminal. Try the mission again and if the box terminal errors out in the cargo center try the admin center and vice versa. Also don't use the tractor beam for the boxes

There is nothing dynamic about the current plan for anything. It is all triggered manually by CIG each week for the next phase. I think over the last few years Tony Z has either not been allowed to add his work to the verse or this whole thing of quantum has shown he is not capable of doing it.

Most likely (and Hopefully?) most of these advanced missions/features that have been discussed over the last few years have not been released due to tech. blockers, direct or indirectly. Massive battles, might be on hold due to server player limits, AI responsiveness, and things like that. Or something like server instancing to provide the area in space the battle takes place in.

In my perfect dream of SC I see exploration as the foundation of most other professions. I dont think there should be random missions at least high level stuff without someone finding it first and selling the data. There no HH to salvage? well guess I better get my scanning ships looking for wrecks. My org needs a supply of unatainium but theres none on the market better send the scouts out looking for it. Make it an auction style bidding so the market can semi regulate its self.

I’ve managed to complete it 3 times on the first attempt. I’ll give you some tips. Always make sure you have a second person. Designate one person as THE box [bro] person. Do not allow another person to even look at the darn things. When you get to the where the boxes are, verify that the box bro sees 3 boxes; if they do not, have box bro abandon it and have someone in the party reshare with them. Keep repeating this until box bro sees all 3 boxes. Do not worry if people in the party sees different boxes or less than 3. All that matters is that box bro sees 3. Have box bro move all 3 boxes and place them on a table preferably, the floor also works. Make sure all 3 boxes are onboard and then head to the gateway. Have box bro take each box and set them next to the elevator in the hangar so the boxes don’t despawn in case the ship is impounded. The party should just chill by the boxes and elevator. Have box bro go back and forth depositing them. Do not allow another person to press any buttons, especially on the dropbox. Profit.
