Thanks tech! There’s a lot of good points made here and I also wanted to address how unthankful a big portion of the community is for the list team. Like you said, they’re not even paid to put in the effort like they’ve been doing. I don’t think I could imagine how many hackers they’ve actually caught and prevented their fake fame in this game. It’s just so unfortunate to see that this one slip up had to be the number one player for 2 years and it’s just so sad to see the amount of stress and backlash the list team gets all the time.
@thewierdragonbaby4843 Жыл бұрын
I get that the list team have lots of players and runs and stuff to check but for a player this big, jumping from one extreme to another in suspiciously low attempt counts suspiciously quickly, if there's one person in the community to check for hacking it would probably be him. I'm just shocked that no one thought to investigate spaceuk until now. Although you can't hate on the list team. spaceuk pretty much manipulated the entire list team into doing whatever list placement switches he wanted, but that's not them being bad people, that's just them being dumb teens/young adults and not having enough time to check everything. Although the list team should definitely take this as a lesson to be more careful to try avoid situations like this happening in the future.
@szthng6681 Жыл бұрын
The only reason spaceuk situation got so impactful is because the list is so incompetent that can't even check a freaking watermark lmao. 3:54 I do want to say that I am extremely worried that this is going to happen and to an extent I think it already has with how undetectable hacking is getting. (such as paqoe not being able to find hard evidence against some of ayrelia's completions) I still do need hard evidence before I want to see someone banned and for the list to take action, but I am increasingly worried about a potential future where there just isn't any evidence a hacker leaves behind. In which case top level play in GD is basically doomed. Remember there isn't any rule of the universe written that hacking has to always be detectable. two players specifically, Zoink and Wpopoff, have so much circumstantial evidence going against them they really do make me worried for the future of the game. with zoink going from having beaten bloodbath as his hardest to having beaten Firework, The golden, Sakupen circles, slaughterhouse, tartarus, Zodiac and hard machine in 5 months. and Wpopoff going from almost nothing to 25 main lists - including slaughterhouse and acheron - in around 3 months. This makes me worried we already passed this threshold a while ago, since these kinds of players never appeared in the last 8 years of GD history that I've been around. In which case GD is in very deep trouble. I really, really desperately want to be wrong. I poured my heart out into this game so many times. I'd hate nothing more than to see cheaters come and corrupt it. And I pray to god that Zoink is a legitimate player and is indeed just a prodigy. Not because I like him, but because I really want this game to have a bright future.

While it's entirely SpaceUk's fault for hacking, the list team knew that it was inevitable that someone would try to pull this shit. I'm very disappointed on spaceuk, but i respected him for his apology, i know it won't change anything, but he's absolutely not coward, he knew that he made huge mistake, and he knew that he deserves this, people like him are rare, so many people just run away, delete all their account and disappeared, i know not everyone can forgive him, so many people in the community still mad on him, and it's okay to be mad, but we can't always get controlled by our ego hating someone forever, we need to forgive him whatever how big the impact is, at the end of the day, we're just human full of mistakes, sometimes we make small mistake and people just take it easy but sometimes we made a big or even huge mistake, all we need to do is learn from them
@julienfutbol578011 күн бұрын
I love this comment. I can tell that your someone with a lot of empathy and can acknowledge someone else's wrong doing from a different perspective. I quit GD when all this happened but came back a few months ago and learned all about this recently. it reminds me so much of cyclic, who was a hacker and someone that I looked up. his rivalry with riot was of that of a zoink vs spaceuk. legit player vs hacker. Despite cyclic coming out to being a hacker, I still loved him as a player and the impact he had on the community. He left us with sonic wave which in my opinion is one of, if not, the most impactful and influential level in gd history. One of my top ever favourites levels and no level today comes close to that feeling. Cyclic did come out and apologise which i have massive respect for and he even went back and beat all the levels he hacked. I don't have an ounce of hate for spaceuk or cyclic as ye, what they did wasn't good but what they left tin he community will forever be monumental (and in a good way). cyclic and riot pushed the boundaries of what was perceived at the time as impossible and so did zoink and spaceuk. however, they popularised jumping level (especially spaceuk) which inspired many people to do the same (myself included). despite all the controversy, its best to forgive, learn from this and grow from this experience. like you said, we all make mistakes but not everyone sees it that way. not everyone will forgive these hackers and thats okay. but for me personally, I' have no hate or animosity towards them. I hope their doing well in their personal life and hope that some day, the people that have hatred towards them can come to peace within themselves and forgive them like myself, yourself and others have too :)

Technical, thank you so much for this video. I agree with all of your points here, and it's really sad to see everyone's trust of others diminish because of this. I also don't blame the Pointercrate team for not catching him hacking until now, because as you said, they're only volunteering for this, and they aren't getting paid to do so, yet they're still working very hard and make a few mistakes here and there, whether major or minor. Despite the toxicity of this community or hell, any internet community in general, I really hope that we can realize this. I mean, I would blame SpaceUK for cheating and manipulating the entire community in the first place, causing all of this drama and tension in the first place. At this point, just like with NoctaFly and their situation, I've lost all of my respect for both of them, especially since I was never really interested in either player anyways. Speaking of which, I don't know why the Demonlist team never set you as the official verifier for Zodiac and put your completion video as the official verification video. I'm just gonna assume that either you didn't want them to do so, or they simply forgot about it, which is totally understandable.

The main issue is that with more hackers exposed by the demonlist we put more and more trust in them to do the detective work, and we assumed most players would be able to hack at most a few levels before we catch them, but that faith in the demonlist to save us all has been shattered. Now we will not trust the demonlist as much when it comes to finding the cheaters and it'll be easier for independent enthusiasts to accuse someone of cheating.

Techs thoughts: Actually serious and insightful Me: I'm sick of this shit
@A.I.rchist Жыл бұрын
And another thing is when people did bring up the click delay thing previously, it was dismissed and hated on by the community. Like that isn't the list teams fault the community suppressed the evidence. It's tough, and it's hard to see this happen. But the only person to blame is Space. He's the one who cheated.

Also, I feel bad for Zoink, getting bad reputation through no fault of his own. Let us analyze what he has posted, and be respectful with our concerns. Zoink isn't Space.

@@A.I.rchist yep, I agree very much so He should be more respected in this wild community , I get we can't trust anyone but I'd kill myself if I ever discover that he hacked Every Single One Of His Lvls.

He got all this attention from cheating. You can't do that. That's so stupid, despicable and disgusting

Imma be real, the people ripping into the list team probably wouldn't have guessed space was hacking. There's 0 reason to shred into the list team when they got fooled by space 😭😭😭

Even though he was supposedly "legit" at the time, the attempt count and extreme jumps were a massive red flag and should've at least warranted an investigation. I'm pretty sure most of the community just believed that the list moderators and other top players at the time would have found out if he was cheating and most of the time cheaters don't have a large following and typically have bad ratios on their videos

I didn’t trust much people in the community with how easy it was to hack, and right at then he got big. I kinda saw it coming

He feels like an actual psychopath. He lied to hundreds of thousands of people, made peoples lives harder and took credit for things he didn't do, only apologized when he was caught, instantly deleted all of his socials, and was completely fine with the whole thing.

I wonder what the chances are that a current completion on of the top 10 demons was done not legitimately. I feel like the chances are very high.

I am too lazy to comment another full paragraph to explain my thoughts, In summery: He pretty much committed a crime by steeling money of others (if he lives up to his words then it's fine) but other than that this situation does not need to last longer than 3 days since it is pretty much only up from here
@Dubauabud Жыл бұрын
This is infinently worse then the noctafly situation a few years back, Space “was the” top player and the whole community loved him, now the past few years we’ve been praising a cheater unknowingly. Shit sucks man.

Tech was actually my favorite top players back then. I was waiting if somehow he goes beating the mainlist again. He is the best player before curse, doggie and trick appears.
@Call_Me_Cuda Жыл бұрын
Man this sucks. A bunch of top players got robbed of things they should've achieved. Heck, it made some of them quit the game entirely. While he may just be another of GD's many hackers, i personally believe that his situation was much worse because of all the players that were affected. The demonlist mods rrally need to be more careful with how they run it, the gd awards shouldve done more background checks before giving the best player awards, and a bunch of other stuff that cold have prevented this from happening. If we as a community don't try to prevent hackers from manipulating us into believing they're legit or so much better than they actually are, they will just keep coming back qnd become harder and harder to expose. Hopefully we all learned a thing or two about stuff like this and hopefully we can prevent it in the future.

yeah that sucks, unforntunatelly theres no saving it ,its just how it is. the damage is done, and it wont be forgetful easily. this reminds me when cyclic hacked sonic wave

at this point it would have been better for him to just say “i dont give a fuck that i cheated” than to apologize

yeah he should just rip the band-aid off instead of being a pussy and trying to dodge repercussions
