I don't understand how blue origin can be considered a competitor. Their main engines have only had 1 successful launch and that was with ULA. The engines had so much promise and have yet to meet those promises and production schedules. Which brings a question to mind are there real engines on the launch pad or more testing articles?

I still think that January 11th(ISH) will end up being flight 8 especially with the idea of 25 flights next year. Flight 9 the 1st catch attempt. I also see a trend coming for SpaceX to apply for licence's for two flight's of similar profile at a time each month! One flight mid-month and another at end of month to verify results of the previous flight or fix issues. Just my thoughts.

Usually the NASA ranges shut down for travel home for the holidays; unless there is some urgent need that cannot wait for a week or two. I certainly do not expect them to work then, between Xmas and New Years. I did have to work then for a new launch just before, once or twice as a site tech. rep. F. Miller PhD

Well, the FAA approved a new launch date from December 14. If they are still limited in the number of flights they can fly in a year then I think they will still get another flight off this year. December 30 or early New Years Eve. 7

It seems that Blue Origin is not taking their rocket seriously. If I were Jeff Bezos, I would have a heart-to-hart talk with Elon Musk about Blue Origin. SpaceX is going to need more and more ways to haul equipment, fuel, and people into space. This means all hands on deck. Blue Origin can take some of the pressure off of SpaceX. To accomplish this, the need to follow the SpaceX mantra of build it, break it, fix it, and repeat. They need to step up their dedication to making their ship work.
