So you get a coffee station, a huge (for a tiny house) bedroom, and a lot of storage for yourself and two of your kids sleep on the smallest of small beds with one bin for all their belongings and a third child sleeping under a bed.

Ellie Miller OMG yessss :( that was so selfish. I feel so bad for the kid. This RV is good enough for a single person/couple only.
@mutyabuena50446 жыл бұрын
The coffee station is tiny, it wouldn't make a lot of difference. Adults need more storage because they *keep* stuff; kids are growing all the time and losing clothes and shoes, they don't need to own a shit ton of crap and the parents could keep some of their stuff in their bedroom. And bedrooms are for sleeping and having sex in, children only do the sleeping bit and are small, so it makes sense their sleeping area is not as big as the parents'. THAT said I would never shove five family members in a tiny house, mostly because I don't want people up my face all the time.
@mutyabuena50446 жыл бұрын
So you'd think it would be better to give a tiny child a huge bedroom and make the parents sleep in the cupboard? Kids are small, they don't own much shit or need a lot of space; the common areas and outside space are available and the parents need space for storage and privacy. But I agree, tiny houses shouldn't be for big families as the children will grow and need more space, also imagine never having a moment alone to yourself.

the parents clearly sacrificed their wants for their children's needs lol. they were actually proud of the idea that they minimized their children's toys and stimulation to that extent and that their backpacks had to be kept outside. they have a huge bedroom while their daughter basically sleeps in a coffin. you can argue that they love it or whatever, but i doubt the kids would actively choose to live there in that cramped space if given the choice between that and a small bedroom or even a normal size bunk bed lmao. a lot of tiny house/bus parents put so much effort into allocating large, colorful spaces for their kids to play in and enjoy. these parents clearly prioritized this clean aesthetic and shoved their kids into the corner and almost tries to hide them away. why even have children at that point?

Have you ever had kids, do you know anything about kids, ever see the movie A Christmas Story (Randy underneath the kitchen sink with the door closed)! Most little kids love tiny spaces like this, because of their size the world around them can seem awfully BIG. I remember when I was a kid my favorite place to hang out was behind a recliner that sat in the corner of a room, I'd take a pillow and some blankets and make a little fort back there. My kids did much the same. They said in the video this was only a temporary living space.
@cocokai96616 жыл бұрын
But Diane, there's a huge difference between having a little hide out and sleeping, night after night, in an airless, dusty, little cave. It's not healthy to not have air flow. It's not healthy to sleep at ground level do to dust and dirt and allergens. That poor kid could end up with breathing problems as a result. So yeah, having a hide out when you're a kid is fine, but having to live in a closet is usually termed child abuse (have you ever heard of the kids parents keep in closets, guess if you were on the jury you'd talk about how kids LOVE that!).

@reynaalmonzo67185 жыл бұрын
@louiseleu I think what @Rosalia Martinez means is that looking past the living conditions it seems the children are happy and have a loving family. There are children who have spacious living conditions with abusive parents. There are children who have a roof over their heads and no one to love them. There are some children who don't even have a home, but have parents who love them. But more often than not people look past those children. Living conditions do not define a parent's love. (I've been to places where some children don't even have their own room, let alone their own possessions) Though I don't agree with the little girl sleeping on the floor under the bed, at least she has everything the boys have except for the space and light. And like someone above mentioned, most children that age like to sleep with their siblings or parents (I was like that), so why would you waste money renovating an extra area knowing your child will rarely sleep there when you could use that money on the final house, where she will grow up in. Also I would like to add that they mentioned that the space that they are living in is temporary, think of it like a small hotel or motel, cause those places are just as small with little to no focus on children. Plus, since its only temporarily no-one should really be complaining about child cruelty until they see the final house. Most likely when they are done with it, they will start renting out the RV (At least that's what I would do)

I get claustrophobia just looking at where they made that girl sleep. Can't believe she made her child sleep on the floor, in what practically looks like a closed in boxed up compartment that is placed right next to a bathroom with a compost toilet. That is seriously not acceptable, not even temporarily. Might as well leave the girl with her grandparents, or something, while building the big house _if she can't accommodate all her children properly. The girl looked embarrassed in front of the cameras that-that was her spot, and rightly so. No child should be made to sleep in there, even for a night. No one is more all about less is more and sustainable living than I am, but this tiny house shit is getting out of control. Tiny houses are for singles or if anything for couples, not for entire families, and even less families of 5 _and no not even temporarily, if that means that you are going to have to make your child sleep in what looks like a coffin for that time. I knew that people's greed would eventually subvert the concept. I was just waiting for that to happen, and there! If tiny sustainable living is going to be subverted so you don't provide your children with proper living conditions, and so you can make them sleep in coffins, so you can save up a pretty penny, then social services are going to have to be on it! This is a situation that I would personally denounce. As always human beings taking it too far for an extra dollar! Why have kids at all, if you're going to push/hide them into a corner like that, and prefer to have a stupid ''coffee station'' and a spacious master bedroom in a tiny house, to accommodating your own children and their things decently?! I feel like a lot of people just have kids because they are allergic to birth control, and to show the world that they can breed. Well guess what, any animal can breed _ and a zoo monkey has more space and air to breath than your daughter had for months.

Their kids are paying the price for them to have a dream home. These kids are missing out on alot more than just a toy. And these people are putting their own wants before their kids needs.

I say ok because it was a temporary thing for a couple months while building a home but man, that had to be a very hard couple months. My husband and I live in our 5th wheel camper that is far more spacious than this and I can't imagine even 1 more person in here with us, especially a child. I'd throw in the towel. It's *just enough space for us and our stuff, I don't think it's fair to kids to live in an RV honestly. You'd have to be going behind them picking up constantly to be able to move in there (or I guess just not let them have any stuff or toys lol). Then there's privacy, for tweens and the adults - your kids do not want to hear grown up time (or feel it when the trailer shakes lol). Uncomfortable.

But the has never been a triple bunk bed space in a camper to my knowledge...I may be wrong but it looked to me that the little girl was just made to sleep under the bottom bunk, on the floor....It looked like a cave...Im sure its great right now while the child is very young & doesn't need much room but she will grow & need her space one day real soon...Cant keep baby in a sleeping cave....lol Beautiful camper though, great job. Comment was made about renovating a stream camper, maybe that could be a sleeper camper for the kids so they could have a bit of space for themselves...Get the little girl out of that dark cave floor she sleeps on....Just a thought..

the design is nice but when she was talking about that “triple” bunk bed and how it sealed the deal and she was showing a double bunk bed with a mattress on the floor i got so angry. there is only enough space in there if you’re storing a corpse under this bunk. while the boys were sitting on their beds that poor girl didn’t even want to get in there and was standing next to her “bunk” with that weird look on her face. or they just didn’t want to show how the girl looks cramped up down there. i feel bad for her. for those arguing that children love tiny spaces - yeah, but not when you sleep like that every day with no light or air next to the toilet that doesn’t flush. i would feel so wronged compared to my brothers. towards the end of the video i wanted to kick that lady in the face, just being truthful

No one is more all about less is more and sustainable living than I am, but if all these notions are going to be subverted so you don't provide your children with proper living conditions, and make them sleep in tiny boxed up compartments like that, then social services are going to have to start being on it. @@heucatia 100 gazillion % agree!!! I let rip on another video about the exact same thing just the other day, couple had gone tiny in a van diy, with their large golden retriever sat on a spot of floor no bigger than 2' x 2' ... And that was pretty much the ONLY floor inside apart from a teeny strip leading to their bed! If you wanna go tiny knock yourself out, but do it before having kids or buying pets, or after the kids have left home! If you have kids, by all means go smaller, but making your kid crawl on the floor into bed and having no space to stand up in their bedroom is abuse! These kinds of things are great for a family week away now and then, where you plan to spend your time mostly on the beach or sightseeing, but not for full time living and should be illegal! Any small child wants their mum or dad to cuddle them on their bed before sleep and read them a story, or what if they're not well and have to stay in bed for a while? Would the parents like to lay in a box for days on end with a cold or flu? What if you need to call out a doctor to come home or paramedics? How the fuck can they assess a child they have to crawl through to see? Of course there are far more "deliberate" forms of abuse that parents can be guilty of, but while parents who do this may not be cruel per se, they are fucking selfish and neglecting their child's basic human needs! Triple bunks my arse! And what use is a box of lego in there? The boy could only click a handful of pieces together before he's building something bigger than the tuna can they're living in! Maybe he could build his sister a bigger bed space? Bout 20 legos should do the trick! Should be a knock on the door, social services, "come on kids, we've got childless couple's galore decorating large bedrooms in anticipation of having a child one day, full of toys and princess canopy beds and racks of clothes and proper tables to eat family meals around!!!" .... Can you imagine that little girl, she'd be strapped in the back seat of their car before they'd finished saying: Princess canopy bed! This mother needs a good old fashioned punch to the throat! 😠😠😠
