curious why you think you can't tow.....maybe because the car is an automatic and you don't want to drag a dolly? the 460 has plenty of torque is plenty durable to tow your honda. the auto trans behind the 460 is a weak point but you will want to have that trans redone at some point soon anyhow.

If you can find a piece large enough, I would definitely find something to cover the sink to make use of that space as prep area for food. I hope it all lasts for many years!

This is the second time I’ve watched this Video … The of the set up of this old RV , the white paint, homemade curtains & wood accents here and there give this old RV not only a clean sleek look but also looks really homey & pretty spacious🙂 I have to say for their first time they did an AWESOME JOB!!! They kept the Original Stove & Frig & Painted the Counter Tops & even by changing it up a little and use 2 separate spaces for the Bathroom & the Shower it still looks Spacious 👍🏼 keeping the old stove & refrigerator the bench style table & a few of the other keep Original Things keep “Harvey Dent” Looking true to himself & yet w/ the wood accents thrown in here and there & some new updates, Not only have they managed to merge together a Combination of Styles that really fits their personalities BUT also, make it look really homey & comfortable👍🏼👍🏼 In all the renovation of Olde Rvs to tiny homes this is one of my Favorites 👍🏼🥰 Thank You For Sharing This Awesome Video 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Y'all, I have been watching people on wheels for over 6 years. I have devoured these videos, I am not exaggerating in the least saying, that this is the nicest rig I have seen! You have made my heart yearn once again for a class c! There are two things stopping me, the skills that I would need to do things that need to be done and of course the money 😂 I had an awesome camper van that I bought from an older couple It was a 1989 Chevy Chinook the only thing I had to repair in two and a half years was my muffler! I don't think selling him was that wise! I am 67 year old single, female. So things are not as easy anymore but I am going to go back to living on wheels in my Honda Odyssey until I can save up for a bigger rig. Great presentation, love all the details especially all the boon docking ideas. There is good and bad about old RV's. The good is as was noted the older materials are better quality and thus last a really long time, which is why a remodel of older units is ideal. However, you need to find a unit that has been well maintained. Like houses they must be cared for to spot leaks, etc. so when shopping for an old RV find one that has been treated lovingly.....they are out there.

As I pay $1000+ a month plus electricity for not much more floor space, I must take my hat off to you and your very efficient way of living. I love it! And if I weren’t approaching 70, I would be doing the same thing. I actually owned a similar RV that we redid for my insurance adjuster husband’s rolling office. He did the aftermath of some bad storms, like hurricanes and tornadoes and needed the functionality of a self-contained RV. But I never thought about living in it. He passed away 10 yrs ago and I don’t have the carpenter skills, or strength, any longer to tackle this by myself. You two did a fantastic job. I wish you many years of enjoying your home while you put money IN the bank instead of a mortgage.

I am also approaching 70 and making many notes on RV/Van living. I've reached my limit with my landlord. Almost to the point of talking myself into living in my car rather than waiting for the "new rules" "new expenses" that are imposed on me from month to month. I tell myself; Do not let the number (age) stop you in places where you will just be unhappy, at less TRY to do it, after all...my dignity is still worth 'something'. But couples like this are so inspiring, thank God I am still teachable (LOL) I am going to try this if you really want to you can do it! Fear Not. God Bless.

I think that space above the cab is really wasted! They even said it's "just for esthetics" but I thought, who can afford using a big good space in a tiny home for decorative purposes? There are plenty ways to add decorative touches...

I don't understand why, with all that nice large solar capacity, you would ever want to use propane? They made a point of saying how they never even come close to using all stored battery energy or the solar panel capacity. & the only thing that would have to run continuously would be the fridge & any heat or AC. Depending on the season. Small ceramic space heaters don't take many watts & are very safe to use. They did not mention heat or AC but maybe I missed it. They talked about how they do things when they are "off grid" but in my opinion, one is never truly off grid unless I dependent & sustainable in power & water sourcing. Water can be fairly easily obtained in nature, & if you have a water filtering capability, no need to buy those large water jugs. Not sure why they had them since they did have the "Birkie" water filter, waste of money to buy bottled water & then have to filter it? Since they had such a big fresh water tank that should suffice for drinking, bathing & dishes/cooking. So again just my opinion, but I would ditch the propane & get an electric stove & frig. I didn't hear what kind of water heater they used either but the on demand hot water units take up very little space & aren't too expensive. I guess I should watch it again but frankly found there was a lot of extraneous talking & most of it at a very rapid rate, making it a little difficult to follow easily! Thanks for listening & letting me express my views.

That was really helpful ! You both did a great job showing us around your rig, sharing insights from your experiences, providing lots of good tips & useful info. This is a good one to share / send to anyone contemplating buying an older RV to save money. If you've got help or can manage the renovations & rebuilding one that's got some rot & aged lines & valves - anything that is made of materials that degrade with age - be bold. It can be done. If you've got the money - get one that's in refurbished or recent vintage, but the best advice you gave - get it inspected...maybe 2 inspections are worth it. Will check out your other vids when I have more time, but am now subscribed, so that's a sure thing.

Actually, jzt999, they went with Harvey Dent, Two-Face in one or two of the Batman movies. I do, however, dig your referencing "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy". I hope you got to see the original BBC series before the movie. And I'm quite impressed with what the young couple did to improve their living quarters. Good vid. bd
