There should be a name for when you break someone’s NIL and set their partner 9:10

In the clubs trick that you were the last player, and you and yr partner needed 8 tricks (about at 7:10 mins in), why when your partner had the trick, did you not play your lowest club, this early in the game? Is that to force the other team to take bags, this early in the game, even tho you guys didn't have the tricks you needed??!! This play is confusing to me? TY!!!
