Dude I totally agree with your "garbage hand" algerism" theory, that the deal is designed to keep dealing you a low scoring hand (for far too long a streak to be by chance), if you are winning coins without buying them and as a way to drain your bank while your forced to wager way too much too many times for too little a reward with way too unpredictable a partner. So the only people who have status are those who could afford to buy the amount of wins and not actually earn his status by surmounting the impossible odds of consistently being dealt a low scoring hand for too quick of a game. Good players are taking advantage of only playing to 250 by getting cheap points quick and not giving your crap luck a chance to change by playing long enough for luck of the draw to even everything out enough to then actually measure skill by how many games you earned coins in and not the amount of games you had to buy to get enough wins to move up, despite your skill level! He was either just frustrated or trying to not give the following players info on his hand for their bid. You never bid 13 unless you have basically all spades.
