Spaghetti And Meatballs!

recipe ‪@Natashaskitchen‬
ingredients
1 lb ground beef
1 lb pork sausage
4 slices of bread
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
1/2-2/3 cup
4 cloves garlic
tomato sauce
1 yellow onion
4 cloves garlic
2 28 oz can tomatoes
2 tsp ground fennel
3/4 cup water
salt & pepper to taste
2 tbsp oil
In a large bowl, add diced bread and water. Mix and mash together and once a paste forms, add the rest of your ingredients. Mix until thoroughly combined and shape into 20 even balls. Roll in flour and set on a plate.
In a large pot, over medium high heat, add two Tbsp of oil and brown your meatballs in batches. Set aside on a plate (they should not be fully cooked, only browned at this point). In the same pot, turn the heat to medium and add diced onions and garlic. Cook until softened and lightly browned 5-6 minutes. Then add tomatoes, water, fennel, salt and pepper. Bring to a simmer and return your meatball with any juices. Simmer for 25-30 minutes until your meatballs are fully cooked.
Season to taste with salt and pepper and serve over cooked pasta. Top with Parmesan cheese and basil if desired. Enjoy!

Since growing up it was my dream to cook, I really loved the idea of making delicious foods. But my parents weren’t as supportive, they wouldn’t buy the stuff I wanted and whenever I made a mistake in the kitchen (like accidentally leaving my food on for too long that it burns) they’d kick me out of the kitchen for months instead of tell me what I did wrong (I.e “lower the heat next time” or “set a timer so that you don’t forget about it”), and even if I did everything right my dad would complain about the smell of cooking and still kick me out of the kitchen and yell at me. Currently I’m 17 and cannot wait to grow up and get my own place so that I can peacefully cook whatever I want. I’m so glad you’re living my dream and I’m so happy for you. Don’t forget to thank your parents once in awhile for being patient with you and letting you cook regardless of the cooking mistakes you’ve done. It’s nice and considerate and makes them feel appreciated and happy like how they’re making you happy

I have a very similar story to yours, except mine is about baking. I love baking and have loved it ever since I first saw my mom bake a cake. It's been my dream to open my own bakery and my mom just hasn't been so supportive. Every time I bake, she says "Why did you bake again?!? I'm going to start having to put locks on the baking cabinet." or "I'm banning you from baking for 2 months, you bake too much and it's gotten out of hand" even though she's loved all the items I've baked and always goes back for seconds. It would make me cry just because she would say stuff like that, and I had to start baking at night when she's at work so she wouldn't find out and get mad at me. I would hide whatever I baked and would give some to my brothers to stay quiet and not tell our mom. I wish you so much luck in your journey, and hope you get to live your dream peacefully! I still have a couple of years left to be able to live on my own, but I know I'll be able to bake happily without having to hide anything.

@@ancemedi Goodluck on ur journey too! And what you do is smart (waiting till night). Its really nice to hear im not alone in this experience and i really hope the best for you. The way my dad would yell at me is like how gordon ramsay yells at his chefs. but instead of it being about legitimate problems its about nothing really. its just "OHHH LOOK AT THIS MESS YOU MADE! YOUVE RUINED EVERYTHING!" and sometimes id ask what mess, and he would try to find something but theres nothing, i clean the dishes i use i return everything back to its place and i basically leave it as if i never cooked, and what he would do is point at a basically spotless kitchen counter and be like "THIS YOU SPILLED YOUR FOOD EVERYWHERE" and id ask where and he'd point at random spots, and before i could respond he just walks out and whilst walking out he says "NEVER COOK AGAIN YOU HEAR ME??" i hate it, and i cant cook at night cuz like his sleep schedule is messed up so idk when he goes to sleep and when he wakes up. I still just try to push through it and ignore the yelling. I still really love cooking. but all this yelling made it hard to explore cooking because I dont have the time to experiment, i just have to leave the kitchen as soon as possible. so most of the dishes i make cook super fast, like in 5-20 mins. when i get my own place id love to explore dishes that take longer amounts of time

I wish you the best of luck and hope you're parents realize what they're doing is not supportive and can bring down any motivation to cook at all. They should be happy you're able to cook, not many can because they rely on their parents or fast food restaurants, which is really upsetting because there are full grown adults who can't cook at all.
