@@RosieJonesRules Nope, you got it wrong. Low honor Arthur is no different than high honor Arthur when it comes to smack talking in gunfights. They are both mute unless a town sheriff is in the shootout. In those instances, as shown above, both Low and High Honor Arthur will respond to the sheriff. Otherwise, the regular smack talk against any enemy (like in RDR1) has been cut from the game. You can use mods on PC to restore those lines and Arthur will smack talk during gunfights.

One of the things that changed the way I played this game is realizing how it feels when you intentionally drag out a gunfight. Like, miss intentionally sometimes, don’t always go for headshots, sometimes just dig in and take small opportunities instead of running and gunning. It just adds a whole new dimension to the game’s action, which becomes just as beautifully and immersively cinematic as the rest of the game. It’s a game that wants to breathe; when you let it, incredible things unfold. Like this! This is amazing

@@ThrottleJerk Oh hell yes, that’s the other thing, I definitely do free aim. Still with a reticle, but that also opened up a sense of immersion in playing the game. It makes firing from a horse feel nearly impossible (which I love), and honestly I don’t like dead-eye, so I’ve gotten better than I thought I’d ever be at being accurate with free aim without using deadeye. Makes it feel so badass

What he says also depends on your honor level. If you have high honor he sounds more cocky and sarcastic. If your honor is low, his phrases are more aggressive and threatening.

He only talks back against town sheriffs, so if you kill those quickly you'll miss these lines. Otherwise, Arthur is completely mute during gunfights. It's not like John in RDR1 who smacked talked everyone and had different lines depending on the enemy's faction and nationality.

I know the feeling too well. I went into it knowing that you got to play as Marston in the epilogue, so I decided I was going to blast through to the end when I first got my hands on the game. Didn't even make it past the first campsite before I got sucked into Arthur's story more than I was ever sucked into John's, and that's saying something. John will always hold a special place in my heart, but Arthur greatly outshined him and it almost hurts to replay the story just knowing what's coming down the line for him and the gang.

He's switching it to his other hand when he comes out of cover so he can shoot around the corner and still keep the majority of his body in cover. The game is also doing it because the camera is on the left hand side so it switches gun hands to allow the player to aim properly. Watch it on 0.25 speed and you can see him switch it from his right to his left hand.

Its honestly a shame everyone online would rather put all their perk points into deadeye and only carry the explosive ammo so they can just one shot or insta kill people. Gunfights or fights in general are so much more fun when it feels drawn out and that anyone could get the upper hand at any moment. I remember when I made my character I decided to put most of the points into stamina and regen and use bows, knives, and only really have one or two guns for hunting or defense. It meant I could sneak around and then rush people with the knife or the fists, which early on in RDRO would mean you can win a lot of altercations, but there is a strong chance that you can just get shot up before getting in close. Plus it made me get really good with the bow. Every fight felt like I had a good chance of winning, but also a solid chance of losing too which made it exciting. Occasionally I would have dynamite arrows or special ammo, but because I only had so little of the special stuff, I would save it for when i might need it most, causing me to have to think and strategize around people. It was great. I would also do a lot of hunting and just enjoying the nature of the game ether as a random loner who would get hired out to people, or have a few friends to do stuff with and enjoy being all yee haw. Then as time went on everyone only used the meta bullshit like in GTA. At least in GTA it was done with wacky flying shit that you could mess aound with, but in RDR it sucked all the fun out of it real quick seeing as no one put points into other perks that werent "let me auto shoot you in the head" or the "i dont need to aim because explosive ammo everywhere". Shame really.
