Fab TMF! I've got the Rallye and put some Pirelli Rally STR's on and they are great both on and off road. It now opens up a whole new experience every tour when you can throw trails into the mix and ride traffic free and see sights and views that most won't ever get to see. I knew you would love it! As others have already said, have a bash at the Off Road School in Wales on GS's with Simon Pavey - after that you won't even bat an eyelid when your bike starts going sideways in the mud! Great fun!

"Amazing view of that plain.. Glad to see there's no rain on it" (rim shot!) 🤣 As EVERYONE knows... THAT'S mainly where it'd be falling in SPAIN. The views, the teachable moments, the wittisysms, That's what keeps me coming back for more. I agree with lots of the comments here, especially one that said this looks remarkably like California. Great scenery, reminiscent of some of the areas along the Great Dividing Range between NSW & Victoria. Your comments on how beautiful the weather is brings me back down to earth here at home where it too, is quite temperate most of the time, so I won’t take it for granted anymore. Love riding my GS, but my previous 350 & 600 dirt bikes with nobbies would be a lot of fun on those fire roads.

Exactly what you said about "drop offs." I don't ride, but I watch a lot of you guys ride along roads with crazy drops offs. I'm sure it looks more scary in real life, but it looks pretty scary on video too. Pretty sure I'd be freaking out! I visited Scotland and rode a horse on a very thin and high trail with a drop off, but I trusted that the horse didn't want to fall either. A bike has on such defense built into it. I give you guys a lot of credit.

We are spoiled here in the USA. There are roads like this fire road in Spain all over the place but as time goes on they become harder to access. Environmental concerns seem to push out recreation. In the 1960’s we road our bikes up Pikes Peak on Bar trail and now today I doubt that you could do that. Have fun and stay upright!

This is your best vlog yet in my opinion TMF.... it seems to me you always wanted to take your GS 'Off-road' but your OCD, 'investment', and your own perceived lack of off road experience (and opportunity as it's the UK) prevented you.... Looked to me like you had everything under control and had if not 'the' certainly one of your best biking days ever.Awesome views and scenery......fantastic photography / videography....glad you bought us back down to Earth... Hi TMF, well I’m kinda tempted now, thanks for the insight on how the Raylle copes with off road. My one actually arrives this Saturday. I’m not surprised how planted the thing is as I give my gsa plenty of beans riding on shingle and seems to be ok. I just love watching the Spain adventure too, I came back from Seville last night to the Beast from the east after a lovely 25c in the sun, also met Richy Vida whilst he was there testing tyres there, Great chap. Class video as always mate, ride safe on those trails.

Yet another spectacular video by TMF! I'm glad to see you taking the big GS off road. The only issue I would have is dropping off the right side of the mountain. What I noticed was your confidence in the morning on the 250 when you didn't say much because you were concentrating on riding off road on a flat surface for the first time. Then in the afternoon on the GS with death drops at your side and at every turn, you were back to talking etc. Your confidence was back on track. Well done mate! i have to plan a trip with them this year. But I'll take a lot more underwear with me for the death drops!

There' one thing missing from those tracks that we have in Blighty, and that's ... burnt out cars and fly tipping 😉The quote "the last thing you want up here is a puncture 🙏" is what I think Harry said when he was doing a similar track (might have been the same one) with a Africa Twin. TheMissendenFlyer I'm not sure, as in Harrys Garage, he was with some colleagues on the new AT, they had a puncture miles (or should that be kilometres) from anywhere and had to leave Harry there whilst the other guy had to go for hours to get it repaired. I seem to remember that there was a fancy restaurant at the end of the trail to recover 😋

That looks an amazing trail! Looks like you’re tackling it well. A couple of ‘whoops’ moments but like you said road tyres. It looks pretty scary on your right hand side if you make a bad error. If I has a GS I’m not sure I’d do off road, purely for the cost of the bike. Nice one mate. Looking forward to episode 4. Cheers

Another belter TMF , rather you than me on those tracks , wonder how big the difference would be with proper off road tyres ? Do you carry a puncture repair kit on the bike ? They are just the standard OEM tyres that come with the machine - I can't remember what were fitted but they certainly want off-road tyres...

I bet you loved every minute of that! Couple of change of underpants moments at 8.30, 11.20 and 20.20 ish? some of those tracks were pretty narrow, particularly with the steep drop on the right, and did Lyndon tell you about the quad bike incident before you started or halfway through?

Great scenery, definitely a beautiful part of the world. Can't wait till you go " off road", just been a dirt road so far, but maybe for the Brits this is off road as opposed to trails. Depends on your definition of a road I guess. 😀 Just having a joke.👍👍👍

Another great Video TMF if that has wetted your appetite for the GS Offroad you should try BMW Offroad with Karoo 3 tyres the bike is fantastic, river crossings are great fun even when you fall in as I did last year.

Great video and stunning scenery. I couldn't help wondering how long the rear suspension would last if you were to do a bit of off road now and again. Considering it didn't last long just on the road it would probable only last about 5000 miles. BTW I rang Principal Insurance for a quote and the guy didn't know much about you and wasn't aware of the competition. He did take a note but I'm not confident that I've been entered. Looking forward to the next instalment :)

Truly magnificent, TMF! Thanks for sharing this. I think I would prefer the dirt bike with knobby tires and max 250cc for that ride though. Btw, I was always taught for safety reasons to switch off the power before setting the kick stand. I notice you do so after? Cheers and have a great weekend there.

TheMissendenFlyer I believe it has to do with inadvertent engagement of a gear and/or not watching clutch or throttle if you miss the kickstand first try.

Ha! Just took another look at my mic, and it's the exact same model. I guess it's an issue w/my camera, in that my audio is always junk. Get a scratchy quality when I get above 30-40mph. Even though I have it plugged into my camera (Sony FDR X3000), I'm wondering if the mic input at the front is picking up wind noise... thanks again - and love your vids!

It would be interesting if you would relate your speed and gear you were in on these off road sections. It would give us non off readers a bit more of the flavour of how to ride and enhance the experience which is not possible from simply a camera perspective. Cani ask you to have another look at the font you use when giving post production information. It is a bit difficult to read sometimes. Thank you.
