Fab TMF! I've got the Rallye and put some Pirelli Rally STR's on and they are great both on and off road. It now opens up a whole new experience every tour when you can throw trails into the mix and ride traffic free and see sights and views that most won't ever get to see. I knew you would love it! As others have already said, have a bash at the Off Road School in Wales on GS's with Simon Pavey - after that you won't even bat an eyelid when your bike starts going sideways in the mud! Great fun!

Great scenery, reminiscent of some of the areas along the Great Dividing Range between NSW & Victoria. Your comments on how beautiful the weather is brings me back down to earth here at home where it too, is quite temperate most of the time, so I won’t take it for granted anymore. Love riding my GS, but my previous 350 & 600 dirt bikes with nobbies would be a lot of fun on those fire roads.

Exactly what you said about "drop offs." I don't ride, but I watch a lot of you guys ride along roads with crazy drops offs. I'm sure it looks more scary in real life, but it looks pretty scary on video too. Pretty sure I'd be freaking out! I visited Scotland and rode a horse on a very thin and high trail with a drop off, but I trusted that the horse didn't want to fall either. A bike has on such defense built into it. I give you guys a lot of credit.

We are spoiled here in the USA. There are roads like this fire road in Spain all over the place but as time goes on they become harder to access. Environmental concerns seem to push out recreation. Hi TMF, well I’m kinda tempted now, thanks for the insight on how the Raylle copes with off road. My one actually arrives this Saturday. There' one thing missing from those tracks that we have in Blighty, and that's ... burnt out cars and fly tipping 😉The quote "the last thing you want up here is a puncture 🙏" is what I think Harry said when he was doing a similar track (might have been the same one) with a Africa Twin. Cheers Gordon

As in Harry Metcalfe?
@gordonLP6 жыл бұрын
TheMissendenFlyer I'm not sure, as in Harrys Garage, he was with some colleagues on the new AT, they had a puncture miles (or should that be kilometres) from anywhere and had to leave Harry there whilst the other guy had to go for hours to get it repaired. I seem to remember that there was a fancy restaurant at the end of the trail to recover 😋

That looks an amazing trail! Looks like you’re tackling it well. A couple of ‘whoops’ moments but like you said road tyres. It looks pretty scary on your right hand side if you make a bad error. That thought did cross my mind once or twice!

Heart rate monitor/data would have been an interesting addition to the video 🤣
@TheMissendenFlyer6 жыл бұрын
Yes - great idea!
@GrumpyGarry1216 жыл бұрын
Jamie Telfer that would give another great dimension to the videos on these kind of trips. A small pulse meter in the bottom corner so we can see the twitchy bum moments 😁 you would be the first TMF....... do it.

Nearly as good as being there myself. Many of the still shots are wonderful. I wish you would make them available to download.

Maybe I should make a TMF calendar using my iPhone snaps!!

Why not both? I was thinking of desktop background for my laptop and phone.

I'll drink to that, good idea Daniel

Hello, Mr. Flyer - can you tell me what microphone you use? Your audio is great... I've gone through three mics, and all are terrible. Thanks!
@TheMissendenFlyer6 жыл бұрын
Just a cheapo Lavalier mic - check the links in my description...
@Cturner22566 жыл бұрын
Got it - thanks... will take a look.

Ha! Just took another look at my mic, and it's the exact same model. I guess it's an issue w/my camera, in that my audio is always junk. Get a scratchy quality when I get above 30-40mph. Even though I have it plugged into my camera (Sony FDR X3000), I'm wondering if the mic input at the front is picking up wind noise... thanks again - and love your vids!

Normaly at home you would not even try it I guess but now easy peasy.
@TheMissendenFlyer6 жыл бұрын
Well the thing is at home (a) there aren't any trails like that and (b) it's usually so darned muddy!

Just out of interest TMF, as your ‘road’ GS had only done 19k or so when the rear shock went, how happy would you be using yours off road regularly?
@TheMissendenFlyer6 жыл бұрын
I would be fine with regard tot he shock - I wouldn't be happy riding it off-road regularly though for fear of dropping it....

You'd certainly want your suspension right, one wrong pothole one wrong bounce and weeeeeeeeee down the hill without lunch :)
@TheMissendenFlyer6 жыл бұрын
Indeed - no room for errors up there!
@iainamurray6 жыл бұрын
Although plenty of opportunity to make more room for lunch *parp*

It would be interesting if you would relate your speed and gear you were in on these off road sections. It would give us non off readers a bit more of the flavour of how to ride and enhance the experience which is not possible from simply a camera perspective. Cani ask you to have another look at the font you use when giving post production information. It is a bit difficult to read sometimes. Thank you.
@TheMissendenFlyer6 жыл бұрын
You sure can ask! :0) Thanks for watching and for stopping by once again....TMF

I have a question for your next live stream. Do you own or have you ever held a fidget spinner. I never tried one I don’t know why, they never came my way. I saw one on holiday from a looky looky person but never picked it up.
