We have more than 1000 missing. There are a lot of subterranean parking still unsearched, too. It's the people who are working hard to help, huge masses of people walking, helping each other. I'm from Torrent, one of the citties affected, I almost lost my grandma and uncle. The initiative of all the people of the province of Valencia is spectacular, it, soy emotional. I was able to get to Valencia airport from city central and fly out Wednesday morning. All Tuesday evening and early Wednesday morning I searched to see if metros, trains, and roads were affected. There was NO information available anywhere. I arrived at the metro to find the entrance chained shut and people milling around- no one there to give information. I was fortunate to find a nice taxi driver who was willing to take back roads to the airport and I asked him WHY no information was available. He told me that the government was only interested in preventing panic. I’m glad I advised my Airbnb hostess to fill every container she could find with clean water, when the alerts came Tuesday evening, and she followed my advice. My heart is breaking for these wonderful people❤️🙏❤️🙏

Now thousand of volunteers are heading Up from the city to the área due te inactivity or lack of organization. I am writing from Spain and very close to the area of Valencia . I have also been close to another really affected area which is not getting any press : Letur . The tragedy is real / the news is not showing the reality of the situation . It is by far much worse - hot showers and warm food? Mud ? Military helping ? From the government nothing is being done . Marines and firefighters want to help and they are not allowed by the government . The government is tied up in burocracy and is non reactive nearly - people have been stuck in trees for over 6 hours watching dead bodies be carried by the water . People have no water to drink for days and others have family members stuck behind doors that cannot be open and haven’t been for days . Those bodies are not yet counted . The reaction of Spanish government should be questioned internationally .
