During the Middle Ages Castile had not a capital city but a system of "itinerant kingship": the king settled where was needed for political or just personal reasons. There was a "net" of royal fortresses _(reales alcázares)_ in different cities all over the kindom: Valladolid, Medina del Campo, Segovia, Madrid, Toledo, Sevilla... that still exist nowadays (well, the one in Madrid was destroyed in 1725 by a fire and then they built the current Royal Palace on the same place). This _Alcázar_ of Segovia Is one of them. Isabella the 1st departed from this castle towards her coronation ceremony in _San Miguel_ church (it does not exist anymore) in 1474.

Segovia is such a beautiful town! Ken and I just watched your video and we were laughing over the Suckling pig conversation, as Ken is a meat eater and me not so much, but loved your commentary! I’m glad you enjoyed the city so much!!
