Turist tax. No I wont go where there's an extra cost unless I really have to. Five euro per day is not cheap if you're somewhere for 14 days. As for National Service; that'll be expensive for a country, they'll have to house, feed and clothe the service men/women as well as provide trained trainers, weapons etc etc.

Great video Stu. Regarding to Sánchez stepping down article. I think, it is pretty rich from the Vice-President Ms. Montero saying that, ".. not to allow the right to dictate the terms of political play." She mentioned "political play" which has a broad spectrum; and my personal opinion to political play is, the new democracy works in mysterious ways. Your main goal as someone in the new democracy, seems to prevent other people from speaking.

A 5 Euro tourist tax has unintended consequences. It will deter families from visiting. A single tourist will pay 70 Euros over 14 days. A family of 4 will pay 280 Euros over 14 days. That is a substantial additional cost to a holiday. And I don't see how a tourist tax can be applied to any EU citizen. Schengen allows freedom of movement, which means a tax would be restricting that freedom of movement and in breach of the Schengen rules. And AirBnB's may be used for non-tourist reasons such as business trips and house moves. A tourist tax would not be applicable to these visits.

Hi Stu, Spain does indeed import some olive oil. For example, if you look at the bottles of some types of Carbonell olive oil, it says that it is a mix of oil from both Spain and outside the EU.

Hi Stuart, Sinn Fein we’re the political wing of the IRA similarly Herri Batasunak and Euzkadiko Ezkerra we’re the political wing of ETA. As has been pointed out by many local business owners, budget tourists bring little into the LOCAL economy for the majority of residents. The air b’n b owners and hotel owners pocket the money. A tourist tax is unlikely to benefit locals, either. That too will disappear into the pocket of someone higher up the food chain. Unfortunately for spain and the canaries, they are not exotic enough for higher spending visitors who prefer the backdrop of the maldives for their holiday pics. That’s not going to change. You will just drive the budget tourists to turkey greece and portugal.

Hi Stu. Is there a way you could copy the comments you read to an editor before reading them out? The comment you read about tourist tax needed a hyphen, or at least a comma, between the words 'all' and 'not'. And, unsurprisingly, it gave you a bit of trouble. If you insert the correct punctuation (in red?) before reading comments out, it would be much easier for you, and might serve as examples for clearer comments in the future.
