Dwade was something else back then and was the MVP of that team. Combination of strength speed agility and finesse. He had a solid jumpshot and nobody could guard him at all. This was probably the best version of him, and his best individual year in the Nba season was that upcoming season coming back from injury. People thought he wasn't going to be the same but he came back even better and stronger. Unstoppable on offence and a defensive monster. One of the greatest players to ever play this game.

I'm sure this will get a lot of play after Kobe's death. I remember this game well, and the most memorable thing about it was that the U.S. would have suffered one of the most embarrassing losses in the history of basketball if not for the clutch play of Kobe. This was probably the 2nd or 3rd best team that has ever been assembled (anywhere), in terms of the talent level. Kobe saved our asses!!!

Robert Phillips the original dream team needed a lot of chemistry before the olympics. Their coach said while practicing against a college team, they were very bad with each other. Rudy Fernandez would thrive in today's NBA. He's got handles. He can shoot threes off the dribble, on the spot, and catch n shoot. He can drive in the paint and/or dunk. And he can defend. It's a shame he wasn't utilized properly in his prime in the NBA.

From a 40M people country we had a basketball team that dominated european basketball and went one to one with ond of the all time dream teams. We also had one of the most dominant and top 3 of all time football selection, stacked with elite players in all positions. At that time it was also golden era for Alonso. And the one that is for me the best spanish sportman ever, Don Rafael Nadal, that was winning grand slams back to back and arguably best tennis player of all time. Just amazing

This is the best Olympic basketball game I've ever watched because it's the only time I ever saw a USA team have to put in work in order to beat their opponent. It was exciting in the 4th quarter which has been rare since the USA started sending NBA players. I'm still waiting for the day when other countries can fill their entire roster with NBA players.

Just to put it in perspective... Usa team had to put in all to win the match, with a roster full of hall of farmers(and top 10 of all history) in their prime...against Spanish team. Very proud of my country... Always putting heart & effort to the max in sports (Nadal is the best example).
