Very informative. Both places you showed are affordable for us so definitely worth considering. It would be nice if there was a proper 25m lap pool nearby though I suppose one could install a smaller resistance pool on the property itself.

Im not a developer or a plumber but it’s probably for the same reasons they usually put the en-suite bathroom next to the family bathroom - saves time & money to have most of the plumbing in/near same area, rather than running additional pipe work. So the washer is located near the plumbing for kitchen sink plumbing

In the UK, most small to medium sized homes have the washing machines in the Kitchen. We find it odd that a lot of country's in Europe have the washing machines in the bathroom.
