Personally don't believe that would be helpful to the game, if anything maybe increase the jam time or remove the skill that lowers the jam time if UACs require balancing.

Realistically yes. But then realistically a properly cleaned and maintained weapon shouldn't be jamming at all. And then there's weapons that can strip a misfire or 'jam' automatically (like the GAU-8) unless the round is completely fouled in the barrel.

@@mattd6931 Even the cleanest most superb engineering designs still jam. Ammo has a lot to do with that. Pushing the limits such as these large caliber guns would still jam.

@@JerC838 Yeah, I'm not saying that jams are impossible if the weapon is properly cleaned and maintained (and using good ammunition). Just that they wouldn't be as likely to jam, especially not jamming dozens of times in a short space of time. And even with a large caliber gun, it'd depend on the auto loading system how catastrophic a jam would be. (For example: if we imagine a M777 howitzer, with an auto loading arm added, a misfire or other issue could reasonably be expected to be cleared without the gun being disabled for a long period of time. An autofeed system like the one on a Glock, might require a bit more work and necessitate the mech returning to base to clear a jam.) For gameplay reasons they have upped the jam rate, and have a time delay before the weapon can fire again.... as opposed to having jam rates statistics based on whether the player has repaired the weapon, and paid for maintenance and decent quality ammunition, which would encourage microtransactions and pay-to-win situations. Or Jam rates based on damage to the autoloader which would just add an extra weak point to mechs, and encourage running more laser focused builds as a meta.
