Spanish conversation for your listening practice about our childhood. Practice with the imperfect past tense!
Did you know that there are certain conversation topics that naturally lend themselves to certain verb tenses in particular? Because of that, if you prepare for those conversations specifically, you'll automatically be targeting a certain element of Spanish.
To help you get started, check out this conversation between my husband and me in which we talk to you about some things that we used to do when we were little. Besides just hearing the imperfect tense, you'll see them all pop up on the screen! You'll also get to know us a little better. 😊

Erica, first, I’m so glad you’ve started involving your hubby in your videos! The two of you are cute and you work so well together! I’ve been learning Spanish for about a year. I saw a couple of your videos early on, but I didn’t understand enough to realize what a great teacher you are! And I love this video in particular! I love how rather than a full scrolling caption, you just put the key word for each part of the conversation as it flowed along. It really helped me recognize the words in the spoken conversation. I’d love to hear about how you two met! (Maybe you’ve already made a video about that?)

Hi Erica, can you tell me if there are times when your husband is speaking to other native Spanish speakers and you can't' understand what is said?

If a new slang word or expression comes up that I'm not familiar with, definitely! 😊 Of course that could happen whether he's talking to someone else or to me. But if you mean just in general, not knowing what is being talked about, no, not unless it's a subject matter that is not my forte, like all of the construction vocabulary that is coming up lately as we speak to the architect designing our house. I don't know half of those masonry words in any language! I'm like, "Yeah, just show me the picture." 😂
