Back in 06’ I went to visit San Diego and made the trip to TJ MX. Everything was going good.......good food....great people......great drinks !! I stopped by what appeared to be a bakery and asked for a slice of bizcocho and the female behind the counter turned red and began screaming at me . Then I began yelling back .....then this Mexican guy who spoke English asked if I was PR and when I said yes he began to laugh. He then explained to me and the female what was said and what was meant to be said. Me and this female looked at each other and the apologies were raining from both sides and got a free slice of “ pastel “ and I payed a $10 tip out of guilt and embarrassment. Wish I would have seen your video years earlier 😂.

Coger is always my favorite. When my Cuban ppl say "coger" we (Mexican) giggle and sometimes make it into a joke. We know what the person meant, but it still sounds so nasty / funny. Never gets old... 😅😅

Lmao I’m Mexican and Guatemalan and my fiancé is Puerto Rican and some of the words I say or my family use he’s like 😳 what you just say... thinking we are saying something completely different. Or whenever I hear his family speaking (if I can actually pick up anything they’re saying since they talk so damn fast) I’m like hold up what!? 😂😂

In El Salvador we call a dog "chucho" as well as the common "perro"...but in Perú chucho/chucha means prostitute. My Mom's friend from Perú was really shocked when she heard us calling our dog a hooker...ay cosas de la idioma

I knew the double meaning of bicho. Years ago with the Puerto Rican singer , Chayanne was filming a novela in Mexico (yes it was a long time ago) he saw bug spray and it said "Mata bichos" he thought it was hilarious and bought cans to give to his friends in Puerto Rico as a joke. You didn't mention concha.

There must be hundreds of such different meanings for words. So, I guess you have to know where you are. I thought bizcocho was something like a biscuit but I did not know that it meant cake and certainly not vagina. And to me bicho is just a bug of some sort. Do these words mean the same thing in Dominican Spanish as they do in Puerto Rican Spanish?
