"Soy" is for like permanent things like your name "soy David", your nationality "soy mexicano", your dominant side "soy diestro" or "soy zurdo" (I'm right handed or left handed), and that kind of things. "Estoy" is used for passing things, like your mood "estoy enojado" or "estoy enojada" (if you are a woman), or "estoy feliz / triste". It is used also for places like "estoy en el restaurante" or "estoy en el súpermercado" or "estoy en la cafetería", or even "estoy en México", you know, things that eventually will pass by. In the case of your comment you should have said "estoy orgullosa" (I'm using "orgullosa" instead of "orgulloso" 'cause I think that you are a woman because of your name). Besides that your spanish is wonderful. ¡Mis mejores deseos en tu hermosa aventura por el español! ¡Y a seguir aprendiendo! UWU
