"Soy" is for like permanent things like your name "soy David", your nationality "soy mexicano", your dominant side "soy diestro" or "soy zurdo" (I'm right handed or left handed), and that kind of things. "Estoy" is used for passing things, like your mood "estoy enojado" or "estoy enojada" (if you are a woman), or "estoy feliz / triste". It is used also for places like "estoy en el restaurante" or "estoy en el súpermercado" or "estoy en la cafetería", or even "estoy en México", you know, things that eventually will pass by. In the case of your comment you should have said "estoy orgullosa" (I'm using "orgullosa" instead of "orgulloso" 'cause I think that you are a woman because of your name). I recently began finding Spanish learner’s you tube channels, after buying some books at a local used book store to help me learn Spanish. I then came across one great you tube channel for learning Spanish, then another, and now yours. This video reminds me of my first Spanish class in highschool. It was very good. After graduating from highschool, I majored in Spanish, but it was taught differently at the college level, and became harder for me. I wish I would have had your channel and also some of these others to help me in my journey before now. I should have waited to learn Spanish after technology and the internet took off… but I didn’t know what was coming. None of us did. You are obviously a very good teacher. I am at a more intermediate level but o feel I can still learn from your videos. I don’t know what is happening. It’s crazy.

Now why did I not find this youtube channel earlier? I have been trying to learn Spanish for the past 6 months, I already speak English and a little German (I am Norwegian, so of course I speak that as well - some may say badly...lol) This is brilliant! I already learned a new word "debajo" - this way of teaching is amazing! I have been using duolingo so far, but I think I will watch this young lady's videos and see how many new words I learn. I am wondering - is she a teacher or professor? This way of teaching is really smart and well thought out! Pictures have a tendency to stick to the brain easier than words, so if I can stick a word to an image instead of just trying to memorize words....
